It's taken me a long time to pick a winner with Wlad and Fury.
I've taken many factors in to account.
I've considered Wlad's strength and experience, his boxing ability, a student of the late great Emanuel Steward.
But I'm picking Tyson Fury.
Here's why....
- klitschko is not the same fighter under Jonathon Banks, I believe Banks could be a great trainer but he is not the guy to motivate Wlad like Steward did, we saw this in his fight with Jennings, that's a fight that Manny would have demanded a KO.
this is the biggest reason why I'm picking Fury....
- Fury like his name (which is tongue in cheek) is actually too fast and I'm talking hand speed, as much as you don't know what to take serious fron Tyson's rants, I actually agree with him when he's says Wlad's best chance is in the first round. As the fight goes on, I only see Fury getting better and peppering him with his hand speed and switch hitting. Tyson does not have one punch power and I can't see him flattening the champ in devastating fashion but I can see the tide turning and picture a scenario with Wlad not getting off his stool for the next round.
- height and reach are also big factors here and Tyson has the ability to sidestep which could be very effective.
- does Wladimir have the ability to dig deep? We saw him dig deep against Sam Peters many moons ago to get off the canvas three times to clinch a decision but like I said that was a long time ago and Wlad has not had to deal with a real challenge since.
- the will to win. I do not believe Tyson Fury will ever be dedicated enough to compete with Wladimirs longevity in the game due to his lifestyle, I believe Furys peak will last 3 or 4 years top, possibly less....but his time is now, he's a huge man, a smart man, a young man in the prime of his life and I believe he has the will to win. This is his time and I think he knows he's going to Germany to become champion of the world.
