Sounds right, good post. Plus the 2 loses were huge setbacks. Fighting nobodies in the past couple of years like Moli, Nichalson, Williamson and Castillo were wasted fights. But it just goes to show you, as you said, the great competition just isnt there so it will be hard to ever be considered great. Beating Byrd again, Brewster, Toney/Rahman will certainly help but I think he will only be considered great in Europe.Originally posted by memorexhasnt done enough yet but more wins againt quality opponents he will surely be remembered as a good champion, but i dont know if theres any great heavywieghts for him to beat ,so he can be remembered as a all time great fighter.Comment

There is a difference between a "great boxer" and a "boxing great".
I already think he's a great boxer and if his career ended now, I would remember him that way. Hard to deny that the man has excellent boxing skills.
Having said that, he has a long way to go for me to remember him as a boxing great.Comment

Great boxer? And exactly what great of his time period has he beaten?

Why does he have to beat a great to have great boxing skills? The guy is an excellent boxer.Originally posted by .:BLOODSHED:.Great boxer? And exactly what great of his time period has he beaten?
The Question "what great of his time period has he beaten?" would apply if I thought he was a "boxing Great", and I don't.
I honestly didn't expect you to agree, because it's against your anti-wlad cult religion to give him any credit at all.Last edited by Torino; 02-12-2006, 02:03 PM.Comment

And I ask you again, what great of our time has he beaten for him to be considered a great boxer?

I said I don't think he's a "Boxing Great", but he is a great boxer. He has excellent boxing skills.
It doesn't matter who you've fought it be condsidered to have great boxing skills. It matters who you've fought to be considered a boxing great.
