Comments Thread For: Mijares Surprises Many at 30-Day Weighin For Santa Cruz

A few days ago, former champion Cristian Mijares took to the scale for his 30-day weighin for the upcoming fight with WBC super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz on March 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mijares is telling everyone that he's training for the fight of his life, and now many are staring to believe him. He weighed in at 127-pounds, which shocked everyone by the scale. With a month to go, Mijares weighed five pounds over the 122-pound limit and way below the 30-day maximum as allowed by the WBC.

I'm guessing you meant to write 117 pounds, not 127.

I wonder if he's ever weighed that low before any other fight.

Oh man I can't wait for this fight, I haven't seen Mijares this motivated and prepared since the Arce fight back in 2007. Mijares was a huge underdog in that fight too.

          WAR MIJARES!!!

No matter how hard he trains, santa Cruz is at a different level than mijares at this point in his career. Mijares can train for an entire yr, take roids and have margaritos hand wrap, he's losing this fight

I think Santa Cruz vs. Mijares is going to be a war, but I'm rollin' with El Terremoto in this one.

I see now, five pounds isn't too bad
