well not a ton of implications in the JMM fight - alvarado seemed to have aged in the middle of the ruslan fight. I don't know if Marquez is the one to exploit that tho. I'll go with him by decision
still a good card for HBO and to bring boxing back to The Forum

I sure hope Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Mike Alvarado gets done for May 17th at The Forum.
The last time Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez fought in Los Angeles was on May 10th, 1999 at The Forum when it was known as The Great Western Forum. It's crazy that Marquez hasn't fought in Los Angeles for that long.
It'd be awesome to see Marquez back in L.A. almost 15 years to the day since the last time he's fought here, and at the same venue.
There's news that the May 17th card at The Forum could feature Marquez vs. Alvarado in the main event AND Garcia vs. Gamboa.
Or Garcia vs. Gamboa might get pushed back to June, also at The Forum.
Knowing Bob Arum, there's little to no chance Marquez vs. Alvarado and Garcia vs. Gamboa end up on the same card though.

Why would he risk a $5 million + payday against the winner of Bradley/Pacquiao (Welterweight title) just because Provodnikov is begging for a payday, when Alvarado would be an easier fight. Marquez is about to be 41 years old. He's earned his stripes.

I agree and like both of the matches and potential scenarios for the winner of JMM and Alvarado. The only thing is, Provodnikov is getting the short end here. He is the only one coming off of a win. Where does he figure? He deserves a shot at the Bradley/Pac (Pac) winner more so than JMM and Alvarado. And how does JMM side-step Provodnikov but consider Alvarado? Granted, JMM vs Alvarado is an exciting fight. But someone is really getting the short end here. No?

And yeah, u Mexicans have no choice but to admit that he's taking the easier fight vs that quitter Alvarado. JMM looking like a lame right now bro, u just gotta accept the bashing he's gonna get for this ***** move he's pulling.
