Well, my thing is that I think people are overrating the Broner win. The reality is, hype aside, Broner was a fringe welterweight. He was one that got a lotta press. He was one that had star potential. But his accomplishments had him slotted a fringe welterweight. So when I look at Maidana, who was a fringe welterweight himself heading into the fight. It was just a high profiled fringe contender match-up.

Personally, I don't think Khan or Maidana has "earned" a shot at Floyd. In a perfect world, he would be fighting Bradley or Pac. And if not one of them, I'd say Danny is probably the most "deserving." But none of those fights were available to Floyd. So personally, I'm fine with, but excited about either guy. Personally, I'd rather he be fighting Lara. But I don't view Floyd as a jr middleweight. And I have no problem with him being selective about whom he fights above 47. And if its not an opponent that's gonna do significantly beter numbers the whas available to him at 47. Why bother???

Maidanas relentless attacking, throwing looping right hands from up high, and explosive combination punching, is exactly have you destroy the phillyshell.

Every time I watch Floyd fight I keep yelling at the screen saying that his apponent needs to do exactly what Maidana did

In other words Floyd will never fight Maidana
        very true.

If Maidana figured out Floyd by beating Broner why didn't work for Guerrero whenhe beat Berto who tried to use the shoulder roll.

Then you have the Porter, Guerrero, Alexander group. And then you have the Malignaggi, Judah, Thurman, Soto Karass, Broner, Maidana group. Nice win for Chino. But he needs to move a lil higher up the welterweight foodchain before you "earn" a shot at Floyd.
                Why doesnt that surprise me?

People act like the should roll is new or unique to Floyd. James Toney used a variation of it. I've seen Hopkins use variations of it. Archie Moore used variations of it. I saw a kid on FNFs a couple weeks ago using it out of a southpaw stance. Its nothing complicated about beating the shoulder roll. A decent jab and willingness to commit to the body and you can beat it easy. Its not the shoulder roll. Its the talent Floyd has applied to the shoulder roll. Plus, Floyd doesn't even shoulder roll all of the time. Probably not even 75% of the time.

There is no such thing as earning a Floyd fight. He does whatever he wants.
