Miura vs Mares on Mayweather undercard?

    Steve Kim ***8207;@stevemaxboxing 2h
Regarding Abner Mares next fight, word is it could be on May 3rd and for a 130-pound belt(Takashi Miura) #boxing

More whispers, like Uchiyama/Felix... but this is a bigger fight with bigger money.
Ahhh hell no. I'd rather see the Japanese unification.... but Miura could go for that

I'd take Miura in that fight

I don't know, but from the past few weeks, sounds like idea of the two in a rematch is slowly being torn apart.

this kinda reminds me of the Maidana-Broner situation. You can tell that both Broner & Mares want an immediate rematch and dont want an immediate rematch at the same time. Both want to avenge their loss but they both have serious doubt if they can win it right now

I think that Maidana's just holding out for a possible Floyd and won't move until after Khan is set in stone. As for Mares... i don't know. he looked doubtful after the loss, then seemed really confident.... then I don't know what happened.
Everyone started talking like he didn't want it and Johnny was ready to go his separate ways

thats definitely what Maidana is doing but Im speaking strictly from Broner's side. Even his trainer is seeming a lil doubtful. There is a ton of pressure for Broner in that fight. Another loss at this point to Maidana would be a massive blow

I agree with this. Mares wants a Gonzalez rematch down the line only when he's ready. With Gonzalez it's also a special situation because Gonzalez knows Mares probably better than any fighter. Mares was a sparring partner for him, they know each other. Mares probably realizes that Gonzalez knows him too well and that a rematch could end badly.

Yea, I agree there. And it's smart not to head straight back into it. For Mares.... he should stay at SBW. Moving up to JLW is a bad move and Miura can ****. He'll also be almost 3 inches taller and has a slightly longer arm reach
