I am a Marquez fan, but he cannot reject Ruslan fight and then take Alvarado. I agree with his focus on 147 lb. title. Therefore, any fight at 140 or 147 that is not for title does not make sense, unless its a tuneup or stay busy fight at 147. The point is he should either wait for winner of Bradley-Pacquiao, fight another champion at 147, or maybe an easy tuneup at 147. Alvarado at 140, like Ruslan, does nothing for him.

i cant picture alvarado who's going to be the obvious aggressor having success coming forward against marquez. even if hes faded he wont have to move the old legs much. cause if the power is still there i think he KO's alvarado... alvarado has got the chin cracked by rios and now ruslan.

That is a good fight for Marquez, but I always thought Alvarado was overrated.

Which is a main reason he lost.
I just read the article and yea winner gets Pac or Bradley. To all the people saying marquez is ducking prov here goes. The fight is taking place at the great western forum guess what the main demographic is there? That's right Mexicans and guess what Alvarado is? Yup Mexican American. Alvarado wasn't on his radar till arum said you beat him you get crack at the 147 title .
Now what's Ruslan bring to that fight in la ? Nothing nada zip zilch .
Will prov give up his belt @140 to fight Marquez at 147 ?nope he wants jmm to move down so no on that part
what about a mexican fan base ? Nope on that
will he win a title he's never had? Negative ghost rider
Will he get next crack at bradley or pac? Nope
So now what's in it for Marquez?

i have the utmost respect for marquez but if this fight happens, then the old man should just retire. he gains nothing with alvarado. if he loses, expect him to cry foul play.

That's exactly what I have been saying wtf is the point now then I actually would have been less baffled if he didn't fight anyone til the Pac vs Bradley winner, but to straight up sidestep Provodnikov and go with Alvarado that is not a good look. I really really hope it doesn't happen I would rather he retired he is just looking bad doing something like this .

That's a good fight, but it's very funny after what Nacho said about Provodnikov bringing nothing to the table.

Poor Ruslan, the guy nearly beats Bradley and kicks the crap out of Alvarado, yet somehow doesn't land either Pacquiao or Marquez. Who's he going to be stuck fighting?
