When was that last time Floyd fought a top 10 p4p? Neither Canelo nor Guerrero were. Khan sure isn't one.

Shane I believe. WHen did he fight Khan? Is the fight signed yet?

WHat does your question have to do with the thread topic?

I'd mark him at P4P no.2. I will move down Floyd from spot no.1 to no.3 because his current level of competition. Ward takes no.1 for now but if he doesn't step up, I'm putting Floyd back to no.1.

I don't totally disagree with you. But we need to be honest, inactivity in boxing is not always about the fighters willingness to fight its about the networks and their budgets.

          WHat fight should ward make?

Any, against anyone of note at 168. He should at least try. He's my favorite fighter, but I hate that he's so desperate for the easy payday fights that he's wasting months and years he could spend fighting.

I get it, he's an elite fighter and wants to be paid as such, but is no money and no legacy better than good money and legacy? I'm not going to keep him high on p4p lists because of what he did 3 years ago.

              None.
He should retire as the true legend that he is.

I can understand your point. Ward is in a TOUGH spot-HBO doesn't want to risk him destroying chavez and GGG while they are profitable (at such a low cost). They have stevenson-kovavlev planned. He's beaten kessler and froch. He killed Dawson. They are gonna give pascal to setevenson in Montreal.

Thats why I think he retains his ranking. HBO has 3 opponents (chavez, ggg, pascal) he could easily fight this year, but THEY are preventing it because they want to maximize their profits long term.

I can't blame that on Ward.

It seems like most people in this thread have no idea what a P4P means. What we are discussing here is the list of the best fighters now, or who will be the best.

P4P best (inspired by Ray Robinson) means, if the fighters were at the same weight and everything was equal, who would win. That's P4P.

Now the best fighter and P4P is Floyd Mayweather Jr. List the rest of pack as you please.

if he's the same fighter, he should beat cotto with relative ease. ggg is another matter. I'd say top 5.
