Truthfully, I wouldn't be surprised if Maidana knocked out Mayweather. Floyd has managed his career very well -- the last legitimate strong puncher Mayweather fought was Miguel Cotto. And I don't think you need me to tell you that Marcos Maidana is a bigger puncher than Cotto.

Jose Luis Castillo is a balls-to-the-wall pressure fighter and volume puncher with skills that somewhat resemble Julio Ceasar Chavez Sr.'s. Maidana is a pressure fighter, volume puncher, and big puncher all in one. It's not a mistake that 31 of his 35 wins have resulted in KO. Even the guys who went the distance with him look like they stepped inside the devil's mouth, i.e. Erik Morales and Amir Khan.

No one is immune to an overhand right to the chin.

Mayweather likely wins, but Maidana has puncher's chance. There is a real risk when you fight Maidana. Ask Broner.

      yes
he could go 1-12 never getting hurt
Maidana is too slow on the draw for Floyd
he throws wide and can't possibly time Floyd
he's not quick enough on his feet to corner Floyd either

This is a common misconception about Maidana.

Barry from amillionstylesboxing did a good film study video where he pointed out Maidana's world class footwork and cut-off-the-ring skills. Maidana's footspeed is really good, e.g. watch the knockdown against Josesito Lopez in slow motion. Maidana appears to teleport smoothly from the outside to the inside without telegraphing his movements. What came next was violent and damaging -- right hook to the body, overhand right to the head.

The video was removed from YouTube. I saved it. It's called "Broner Maidana film study AMSB".

no, even Maidana at his very worst gave Devon a cut eye and lip. He will land but will it be clean enough or often enough to beat Floyd?, maybe not not but Maidana will go out from opening bell for the KO i'm sure. its his only chance of winning or getting numerous Kd's ha.

Also, can Mayweather do what Devon Alexander did against Maidana? Does Mayweather clinch excessively?
Does a seagull and a crow eat lunch together?

Mayweather's movement is too good. He can pressure and deflect at the same time, while managing to still throw and hit you with punches fairly easily. As it's been stated Maidana can't fight off the back foot, and isn't good to the body...which is where Floyd likes to throw his jab. Comparing him to Khan and Broner is absurd...neither are half and in Broners case a quarter as good as Floyd at what he does. He's a lot stronger than Marcos....that's the one thing people don't give him enough credit for. Strength I mean his ability to move you and impose on you....not punching power which is also underrated.

Floyd would beat Marcos and look clean doing it imo. He won't need to fight like Alexander because he's far better and his arsenal is extremely deep. He'll find the easiest way to win....and do it, especially with someone who's tailor made for him more than others.

Maidana (somehow) earned it with his win over Broner, who everyone said is a C class bum though. So let him get paid and soundly beaten I guess.

His power and natural fighting ability are a gift, just like Mayweather's boxing skills and discipline are a gift. I don't think it's crazy to say that Maidana -- a strong, intelligent, in-his-prime brawler -- beats a 37-year-old pure boxer. Or at the very least gives him a good fight.
Sorry that I'm just now getting back to you, and thanks for ignoring both of my posts, and focusing in on the fact that I threw "freaking" in there.

That's a hell of a conclusion you chose to draw. Mayweather isn't just any old "37 year old pure boxer". He's the goddamn best in the sport, my friend. And Marcos "freaking" Maidana, doesn't have a prayer against him.

I like the part where someone suggests that people are underrating Maidana, while ignoring that not only are they overrating Maidana, but also severely underrated the best boxer in the world.

                    "You haven't studied Maidana's fights"

STFU. Apparently you haven't "studied" Mayweather.

Floyd gonna work vs Maidana but I doubt Maidana can catch Floyd,,

Floyd is just that good.. Maidana is going to have a few moments and Floyd has to be careful not to get tagged like he did vs Shane.. Maidana tags him, it could be the difference maker with marcos
