Comments Thread For: Photos: Salido is in Top Form For Lomachenko Defense

The featherweight world champion of the World Boxing Organization, Orlando "Siri" Salido (40-12-2, 28KOs), is in great physical condition after three months of training for his upcoming defense against the dangerous two-time Olympic gold medal winner Vasyl Lomechenko (1-0, 1KO), taking place on the 1st of March in San Antonio, Texas. Lomachenko will attempt to capture a title in his second professional fight. The fight will be the co-feature to the HBO/Azteca televised rematch between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Bryan Vera.

Crazy Fight for Lomachenko if he pulls it off ,he'll win the early rounds, the guy doesn't slip punches that well so he will get hit and probably will score a couple of KD. The real test is going to be after the seventh round if it goes that far. He'll be worth a lot of money unless Arum is taken 65% ,I wish he was with GBP.

It kind of undermines a division of contenders, a world title and to an extent the sport.

Most of all, it's so ****ing weird to see a world title fight with a measly (1-0) record next to the contender.

Unless of course it's Pongsaklek Wonjongkam, because he did that all the time.

Lomachenko has a fan for life in me. In a day where Olympians go pro and fight about 30 bums in a decade. This cat coming out and fighting arguably the best fighter in his division in only his second fight. He can fight. He knows it. So let's do the damn thang. Far cry from these jokes who get their balls massaged for fighting tomato can after tomato can. And this kid is 25. So he could easily join some of his fellow Olympians in the bum of the month club for a couple years and get applauded for doing it. Win or lose, I f.ucks with dude.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Salido is a tough, battle proven Mexican vet.

We'll learn a lot about Lomachenko.
