If no one wants to fight him at 160 then he can move up.

Why does he have to move up, he campaigns at 160. Why arent you complaining about the top MWs? Quillin hasnt fought in half a year and doesnt even have an opponent lined up. Murray, the guy who should have beat Sergio, almost lost to some russian guy who wasnt even top 100 in an 8 rounder. Sergio is fighting a 154 fighter (which u just complained about GOlovkin lulz). Nope its all about GOlovkin not fighting the top guys

Quillin's a paper champ who is fighting low level opposition, Martinez is taking a tuneup against Cotto and then will fight Golovkin. So I guess Golovkin is just staying busy at 160 until that fight happens. Still, couldn't he go up to 168 for just a fight or two while waiting for Martinez?

Your a good poster but no way a fighter can jump up and down from 160 and 168 and it be optimal for performance

The golovkin hate is getting out of control, cant even enter threads with his name anymore
It's funny, but as long they're saying his name he gets bigger.

He's not even that kind of star yet but they're going to make it so.

Thanks. If I remember correctly, Golovkin rehydrates to 170. So he'd either have to put his body through a lot or fight undersized at 168.

He doesn't need to, his ratings are soaring. They were higher than Ward's and he's only been in the mainstream for 8-9 months.

Fighters move up out of their weight class when they can't get money, Golovkin's fees are going up with every bout.

I wonder how long HBO tolerates this level of opposition, though. At some point, HBO won't want to be accused of putting up mismatches to hype a potential star. But at least HBO isn't paying millions of dollars for these mismatches

Each time the fight is offered to better opponents like Murray, Geale, NJikam, Kirkland etc. Who are these SMW eager for the fight? You got the big name guys like Ward, Froch, Kessler, Chavez, all of whom expressed interest but not one offer was made. You got some SHO Extreme guys, and Dirrell who might be retired with a brain injury, and is about the least reliable guy around. And yoyoing between divisions is usually not a good idea.

HBO? They're getting huge ratings at low cost.

It's not K2 or HBO's fault the top 5 MWs don't want to put pen to paper.
