Golovkin is a 1 to 100 betting favorite against Andy Lee

At what point does Golovkin start getting called a "cherry picker?"
I've seen other fighters get accused of that despite fighting far better opposition.Comment

The "premium" in premium cable no longer has any meaning if they're buying fights with a 100 to 1 favorite. Even if HBO is getting a good **** for it's buck, it's supposed to be world championship boxing, not bargain bin boxing. HBO buying these type of fights is what caused network TV to abandon boxing because they couldn't possibly outbid HBO. HBO should stick with spending top dollar on quality fights and stop with the exclusive nonsense. Other more mainstream avenues would open up if HBO refused these type of fights.
At least Showtime fights have been mostly competitive lately.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 02-11-2014, 10:50 PM.Comment

This has nothing to do with Golovkin hate. It's an HBO issue. Golovkin vs Lee is perfectly fine if hey can't anyone else. (outside of HBO)
HBO should just bring out the checkbook for Golovkin vs Quillin and stop this nonsense. If they can spend 3 million for Ward vs Rodriguez, they could have certainly done the same for Golovkin vs Quillin. Probably wouldn't even require that much. Even less for a Lara fight.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 02-11-2014, 11:07 PM.Comment
