Well this is very true. When Andre Ward was trying to make a name for himself at 168, he had to do it against a murderer's row of opponents, Kessler, Bika, Abraham, Froch and even his "weaker" opposition is still stronger than anyone at MW, Dawson and Rodriguez.

Golovkin has yet to fight an A fighter.

Its about time Ward made some sacrifices he doesn't seem keen to fight at light heavy against the like of Stevenson and Kovalev, GGG is probably the bigger attraction considering his style so if Ward should give something up if GGG is going to make concessions in his purse. GGG ducking Lara is pretty poor to be honest it could have dispelled some of the criticism surrounding him struggling with technical boxers. I don't know how much of it is down to networks tho. I wish fights could be make then networks bid on the right to show the fights rather than all this exclusive bs it robs the fans of what they want to see
Give poor little GGG a catchweight?

But I thought he'd be favored to beat Froch, Kessler, Groves, Bika, etc? Why does he need a catchweight? So he needs a catchweight for just jumping one weight class? His first jump?

Anyway if Ward is willing to go down to 160, I think the fight could be made very quickly. As it is GGG has lots of unfinished business at MW.
The #2 P4P, Ring champ of his division, Super 6 winner, should not have to go down anywhere to fight an overhyped contender.

Americans can be cynicals. When they talk about Ward's achievements AA or Sakio Bika happen to be in the A league, but when they talk about AA alone, the latter has always been a B fighter for them from the get to go.

However, Ward has the bigger name and pedigree to HBO, who will be footing the bill. HBO wants to let this fight marinate...but they should not wait too long.
            Where has he "filled" seats?

He is quite famous in Germany and eastern Europe and since he often fights in Europe in primetime, he quite clearly has a large following there.

MW is definitely not a division where every one is fighting eachother. I mean we've only seen Murray-Martinez, where I thought Murray won, Geale-Barker, Sturm-Barker, Martinez-Barker, Murray-Sturm. Pretty much only Barker is fighting everyone.

Sorry Virgil, I don't think Ward closes the show against any of the guys GGG did.
He couldn't even get Rodriguez out of there, even though it was obvious after the 4th round that Ward was leagues above Rodriguez in level of skill.

Ward is a good fighter but until he gets a bit more Floyd in him he'll end up just where he is now. A really good fighter that many people outside of the hardcore boxing community don't know.

Or ask Murray, Sturm, Martinez, Quillin, Geale, Mundine etc. All the guys who clearly has ducked him.
