    Carl 'The Contradiction' Froch

FIRST of all, Froch is someone I have respect for because of his willingness to take on the best fighters around. For the last seven years or so, Froch has consistently boxed at the top level. You couldn't say that for his compatriots in Hatton, Calzaghe and Haye.

BUT looking at the public perception, with emphasis on the British public, I can't help but feel nauseated by their lack of education on Froch's real standing.

They say he has a granite chin. Not quite, as any spectator will tell you: Dirrell had him buzzed, Taylor had him down, Ward shook him, and Groves had him out on his feet. There's no doubt Froch has a good chin, and an even greater heart, but this idea he has a granite chin like that of a prime Margacheato is a bit far-fetched for me.

More importantly, however, are his top level fights in which his weaknesses as a boxer have been shown. Frankly, Taylor was 60-seconds away from beating him. Dirrell in my eyes clearly outboxed him. Kessler beat him in their first fight. Ward beat him. And he was losing to Groves before his hometown dirty stoppage.

SO with these contradictions in consideration, what is Froch's real standing to you?

With my criticisms of him aside, I think his achievements and the fights he's been involved in have surpassed the padded wins of Calzaghe's manufactured career.

Froch is really a great fighter

Carl Froch is a man that don't know what i KO, because is made by steel. His style is really cool, and i think is still at the high level.

      Froch isn't from Manchester.

Taylor was 2 points up in the 11th, with Froch easily knocking him down. It does not matter how long there was left, Froch was closing in on a late KO from the championsship rounds as per usual. Froch always starts a tad too late for my taste, but he is always getting stronger as the rounds go on. This showed how much of a desire this man has.

Dirrell did not outbox him, Dirrell avoided boxing him the whole fight, I found it very hard to give him rounds. But when he dared to stand up against Froch and box him, I think he was doing one of the greatest jobs of boxing that I've seen in SMW. Froch took it by a small margin though, Dirrell should have taken the belt from the champion, not steal it.

Where is the shame in losing to Kessler and Ward, they have both proved to be some force, with Ward being the top 2-5 in most peoples P4P lists. Froch stood up for himself in both fights, even though the Ward fight was much further appart than what the judges saw.

All in all Froch has fought all big names in the timeperiod available to him and he has had the toughest run of opponents in the last at least 5 years. He's been down twice only and both times he has stood up and fought the hard way and both times he has edged it out in the latter stage of the fights.

If you haven't watched him against Taylor, you should, that'll probably answer alot of your questions too about his chin.

Against Groves he also proved a granite chin, taking some seriously concerning combinations while trying to swing himself, I cannot see how that alone hasn't proven anything to you.

Matchroom event. He was considered the 'Home' fighter.

Groves was also a matchroom fighter. Regardless, Froch was going to take it.
