how good is mayweather in cutting off the ring?

khans gonna be on his bike. quick 1-2s then getting quickly getting out of the way so mayweathers ability to cut off the ring is gonna be vital.

we havent seen mayweather have to do much of it so i thought who better to ask than the boxing scholars of NSB.

Mayweather doesny need to cut off the ring. He's different in the dense that he knows how to draw his opponents in. He knows how to set traps. A lost art form in today's boxing world. Khan will be no different.

He's great, going on exceptional. He really does have every aspect of the game down. When he walks his opponents down, he slides across and doesn't follow them around at all. He also does it quite quickly. Watch the Ortiz fight for the latest fight of him cutting off the ring well while walking his opponent down.

That won't be any problem if he and Khan fight though. Khan is a knob. He'll constantly get into punching range, flail away with combinations and then stand around waiting to get hit.

Floyd won't need to cut off the ring in my opinion. He kind of plays into making people do what he wants them too do pretty much. Maidana would be picked off as he comes in and Khan would make a ****** mistake before too long.

Exceptional, he had the ring cut off vs Canelo from the 1 second into the match darn near before the bell finished ringing, and he was unsure how to react throughout cause of this

Floyd's reflexes and athleticism also keep him in range even when youre not sure hes there. His lead right is surprisingly long but his trap setting is wonderful. His movements are very subtle inside as well and thus gets you to move where he wants you to and doesnt have to do a whole lot to cut you off. He knows where youre going before you realize he put you there. As much as I hate the guy the guy really is a genius in there. He starts cutting off the ring at the start of the round.

                    1. Mayweather will pop Khan in the middle of those 1-2s every time.

                    2. Mayweather can cut a ring off just fine, and has against guys who can move much better than Khan.
