Why in the world would Cotto take this fight if he didn't think he had a chance to win this fight?? Some people say he might not even win a round?? Get real...

Cotto will surprise you all and get the win...fight Canelo next and win that fight then rematch Mayflower and give him his first lost..retire, Game Over...next stop HOF

    Warrrrr Cotto

Not disagreeing. I see what you are saying. I got faith in my boy that's all.

In this fight, people will quickly realize why Mayweather and Pacquiao are not going up to the higher weight classes. The punches take a very heavy toll.

If Trout operated smoothly against Cotto, Martinez will drill him inside 5 rounds.

Let's recap... the only occasion where King Cotto dropped to his knee, the person administering the shots in that bout subsequently was caught using plaster bricks in his following fight... So I wonder if you have any insight if Sergio uses bricks in his gloves as well? I mean why else would you make such an asinine comment?

I think the big question here is how Maravilla has come back from injury and layoff and how much age has taken from him.. the Sergio that boxed snot outta Junior a year and a half-ago beats Cotto fairly handily IMO.

Cotto's no walkover even for a bigger guy, but unless Maravilla's regressed significantly, he uses movement to keep away from Cottos pressure and hurts him with quick attacks. Cottos no plodder but even if he catches Sergio, Maravilla is more than capable of tearing it up with the top end of the MW division when he needs to.

It's a good and interesting fight, but a Maravilla even close to his old self wins IMO.

Gotta gives props to both guys tho...Maravilla for jumping back in at the deep end, Cotto for taking the legacy gamble (not that they each won't be rewarded in other, more tangible, ways).

too many people are sleeping on Cotto here. Cotto is the best all around fighter Sergio Martinez has ever faced. the guys that have beaten Miguel Cotto have done so with volume and pressure. Even Trout and Mayweather had to out throw him to win. Sergio is very hittable. He doesnt have the defensive capabilities of Floyd or Trout. Sergio has never faced a fighter like Cotto so to think he will be able to do the same things he did to chavez is silly. Cotto is much better defensively than chavez, hes much faster than Chavez, he has much more experience than Chavez, hes also much smarter than chavez. Cotto's footwork is vastly underrated. He will get inside and when he does Martinez will wish that he didn't have that height and reach advantage. Cotto tko under 10
