So now a fighter gets discredited for winning and a fighter gets credit for losing?

Since context doesn't matter anymore, Pacquiao's win over De La Hoya is clearly better than Mayweather's because Pac made Oscar quit. What a great win that in no way can be criticized.

What the fuc.k is an actual welterweight? How do you define "actual welterweight"? Is it someone who started their career at 147 or someone who spent most of their career at 147, someone who performs their best at 147 or like most people on this post and this board, do you have a special definition that applies only to Floyd Mayweather?

Mayweather didn't start his career at 147, did not fight the majority of his fights at 147 and did not perform his best (in terms of knockout percentage) at 147. The same applies to Cotto, Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya. So, are any of these guy true welterweights?

Your comment is about as asinine as most of the comments on this thread!

He also got rid of Hatton in only two rounds while knocking him down in the first round.

You forgot to add, "while taking PEDS" because anyone with any sense knows that was the case. How is that for context?

I thought this thread was all about disregarding context??

That's a strong accusation there, but if were talking about common sense though most top athletes use some sort of enhancement drug so how how do we distinguish they guys are clean?

Mayweather is the white/italian version of Rocky Marciano, its very clever Mayweather has made himself so hated to get more cash and he makes up genius excuses to avoid the fights (a few years for the opponent to come out of his prime years) then like lion he strikes with fury!

Its clever but in short its a coward move and hence why Floyd is no better than Rocky Marciano.
To think that this whole time I thought Mayweather was black.

Well, I would not consider a fighter a welterweight when after the fight, he returns to fighting below welterweight for the next 3 years as Marquez did.

I would not consider a fighter a welterweight when its fairly well documented that keeping the weight on is an issue for them as it has been for Pacquiao.

I would not consider a weight class a fighters natural weight when they require weight training to put on mass to move up in weight.

Floyd is a welterweight. He is apparently unable to make 140lb.

If he was indeed not a welterweight, why wouldn't he fight all of the little guys that he has moved up in weight at a lower weight that he is more comfortable at?
