Team Golovkin made clear earlier this month they're staying at middleweight, exception of Mayweather at 154. Then Ward fired a couple of shots, still without ever saying he wanted the fight. So you get off it, making up flomo fairytales.

Also, Floyd-Golovkin and Ward-Golovkin are two different things because Golovkin is prepared to go to Mayweather's weight class, Ward is not prepared to go to Golovkin's, in fact, he doesn't even want to fight him in his own weight class.

Geale is more pressure from what I've seen of him. As I said, mobility imo isn't the key to beating Golovkin, he knows how to cut off the ring.

He really hasn't, you're creating your own narrative. The only person Ward has offered a fight recently is George Groves, not Golovkin.

        Martinez isn't ducking anybody

I know it's hard for some fanboys to use sense but look

Golovkin made his US debut 2 week before Martinez fought Chavez. before beating Proksa was basically unknown to all expect the most hardcore fans. so that wasn't a duck. unknown guys call out people all the time by that logic Floyd Mayweather is ducking Luis Collazo because he called out Mayweather after his victory. and for the dullards I wasn't saying Mayweather is ducking Collazo

Martinez comes back from his injury and fight a victory lap fight in Argentina. it was universally known and accepted that was the case. he hadn't had a fight in Argentina since 2002.

he gets injured again and wasn't even medically cleared to train until now. so being unable to be medically clear to even train for 9 months is ducking GGG?

he comes back to fight Cotto who wanted to fight him. sorry but Miguel Cotto wants to fight you, you fight Miguel Cotto. Golovkin fans may not know this but Cotto is a much bigger draw and name than GGG.

what the majority of Golovkin fans don't realize is that GGG is just a footnote in spanish language media. Sergio Martinez speaks spanish and is on spanish programs, gives interviews in spanish. Cotto Martinez is far more significant in the spanish speaking world and FYI latinos drive PPV sales.

what this writer and the fan boys don't realize is is that Sergio Martinez has TWO fights with HBO left. do you honestly think HBO will accept anybody else but Golovkin for Martinez. Martinez has never ducked anybody so why would he start now?

        but keep believing the hype

GGG is the most fear man from 154 to 168 but when Andre Ward call him on his BS they back tracked like hypocrites

Team GGG was even saying Kovalev was afraid of GGG. yeah I'm serious.
Excellent post. And to take it a lil deeper. GGG won his joke of a paper trinket a couple months after Martinez beat Pavlik for the lineal strap. Where the f.uck was GGG then? Where the f.uck was GGG when Martinez sent Williams crashing to the canvas looking like he'd been shot in the head with a 357? Where was GGG when Martinez was boxing circles around Maclik and that Dzinruk cat? I didn't hear a f.uckin peep from GGG during that time. But now that Martinez's body is breaking down and appears to be on the way out. GGG all of a sudden wants to unify titles. This guy is becomng a f.uckin' joke. And the only bigger joke is those who have their lips wrapped around his d1ckhead so tight that sum-b1tch has turned purple.

Think about it. What's Canelo's next move adter Angulo? The Martinez-Cotto winner is the logical next fight to try and make. And if that's the case. Sergio makes probably 5x the money he'd make fighting GGG. And there's no way to criticize a fighter nearing 40 for taking that route.
Damn bro, that's a lot of "what ifs":

          1. Martinez wins
          2. Canelo wins (that's a big "if" IMO)
          3. Canelo decides to move up to middleweight
          4. Golden Boy and HBO work together to make Canelo-Martinez happen

Martinez has gotta get that money, but GGG is gonna be his only option this fall

You're the one deluding yourself hitking. I actually like Andre Ward, but he hasn't been calling for a Golovkin fight. He stated he wanted Chavez, stated he wanted a Froch rematch (but isn't chasing it), offered Groves a fight in the UK but not once has he said he wants to fight Golovkin, the sentiment has always been reticent. It's been "ask them", "down the line", "bigger fight in the future" etc.

Golovkin is an overrated B-class fighter, just like Matthysse. And, just like Matthysse, as soon as he gets in the ring with a quality fighter, he will be exposed.

Ricky Hatton was considered a beast just like Golovkin when he was knocking out tomato cans and faded champions in his hometown in front of crowds of 20,000 fans. During that time, his promoter protected him well. However, when he stepped in the ring with a quality opponent, he was immediately exposed. As soon as Golovkin steps up, he will become the new version of Ricky Hatton.

My understanding is that Martinez only has one fight left on his HBO contract after Cotto. He's favored to beat Cotto. So assuming he does, he likely becomes a prime target for either Floyd or Canelo. Probably moreso Canelo. So if I'm managing Martinez, I simply close out my HBO contract by fulfiling my mandatory. Then he's free to get the big money fight with Canelo. Now, HBO is gonna do everything possible to prevent Martinez from fighting anybody not named GGG in that last fight of his contract. But if after Cotto, Martinez has a Floyd or Canelo deal down the road. There's no way in hell I'd even entertain the possibility of being a springboard for GGG. That wouldn't be intellegent.

                    Sorry, but I'm calling b.s.

If a Canelo fight is on the table for Sergio after he demolishes Cotto, he'd be a fool NOT to take it.

It won't be unless HBO makes nice with Golden Boy. And even then, Martinez himself has explicitly stated he wants to fight Golovkin.
