It was a good, close fight. People were disappointed the next day in the actual fight, but I wasn't. Both guys fought really well.
ya i didnt understand that either i thought it was a hell of a fight its like if the fighters use any kind of defense its boring somehow

6 months later and you still hear.... but but but the eye, the eye, if Matthysse didn't have it shut... hahahaha Not even my boy Matty bitched like ya'll do man. Get over it. It was a close first half, then Garcia pushed his eye socket in and capitalized on the second half. Shit happens, it's just the way the cookie crumbled.

Credit to both men. They were evenly matched and could've pulled off the win that night.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Garcia, I thought he fought tough and imposed his will late in the fight. And I know the eye closing was credit due to Garcia. But what I am saying is, that changed everything. Lucas was getti hit with loopy shots he could no longer see.

I was shocked to see Farhood and Bozo had him (Garcia) UP 59-55 at one point, and Malignaggi had Garcia up 58-56 which is a bit more credible imo. But how in the world they had Garcia up at all at that point is beyond Me...I went in scoring the fight completely unbiased (at least thats what I felt.)

I think if you went into it unbiased then you could see the tide turning as early as round three, latest round four.

whos *****ing? making an observation is *****ing? 6 months later or not, its the first time that I ME MYSELF commented on it here. It was a drastic change in the fight, plain and simple. Doesn't matter if "**** happens." You can say that about anything and everything, are we supposed to not talk about anything?

And the swelling doesn't somehow lessen Garcia's victory, even though a few bitter fans wanna add an asterisk. Matthysse brought it that night, but Garcia was simply more cerebral.

Never understood why Matthysse fans wants to use that as an excuse. Danny should get extra credit for shutting that eye.

              Masterful performance to me.
It was a grazing on sweep of the eye. not some thunderous punch. lol masterful performance. I GU ESS low blows are masterful now.

I loved Garcia's performance. It was the best of the night IMO. And I don't think that Garcia gets enough credit for the victory.

Closed eye or not Matthysse landed his best shot on Swift, with his mouth piece probably like in the 4th row and Garcia ate that **** like scooby snacks, no jelly legs or nothing. Garcia was the better fighter he did everything he wanted, everything Matthysse did he allowed.....

Both stock went up after this match, unfortunately for Matthysse his orbital bone was cracked and he had to sit on the shelf some........A rematch would be good down the line but I'm sure LM knows Garcia beats him even easier this time, what happens if Swift blisters him with those deceptively quick powerful razor sharp combos from early on, Matthysse has shown he has no answers for that with Ajose....Matthysee still has some fight left in him he needs to avoid Swift though, a rematch can happen anytime in the future, there is no rush, GB doesn't have a 4 fighter stable like TR...............

As far as Canelo Floyd goes, the ass whipping gets worse for Canelo every time I watch, aside from his dirty hip shots, he was clueless..... I expect Canelo to take another beating very soon, vs Angulo IDK.....but very soon

Yes it was, I hope people can get this through their thick skulls and understand that maybe some fighters approach certain opponents differently. I mean, Garcia's fights against Morales and Khan kept getting cited as to why Matthysse was gonna slice through him. Anyway, it was a great night and I agree with the bold despite me being of the opinion that Mayweather's performance is arguably the best since his return in '09.
