the only reason maidana was leading was because firstly the poll was made late at night when everyone in the uk is asleep

secondly we are a small country and boxing news isnt on the forefront like in the US, more and more people have heard about the poll and are voting, its not rocket science.

the poll has slowly picked up,

also madiana was beggin for votes long before khan
plzzz update me current stats of polling.

Amir Khan: I think it will be Amir Khan. I don't know for sure, but my guess is that it's almost a done deal. So why did Floyd Mayweather Tweet that Marcos Maidana is also in the running and it's up to the fans choose? That's just Floyd being Floyd. Why did he Tweet that Devon Alexander was in the running to be his opponent last May when everyone knew it would be Robert Guerrero? Mayweather doesn't ever want it to look like anyone is dictating terms to him.

Floyd's gotta be the boss, or at least appear so to his fans (who readily believe everything he says and Tweets). As British boxing writer Gareth A. Davies noted in a recent column for The Telegraph, Mayweather is probably pissed that Khan went public with signing his part of the bout agreement. Mayweather does not abide with anyone stealing his thunder. If there's going to be a big fight announcement, he's going to make it, not the opponent.

Apart from all the usual ego s__t, Mayweather is an astute boxing businessman. Although Maidana is a more accepted opponent in the U.S. and among Latino fans, Khan is almost a household name in the UK (where the Pound is stronger than the dollar, boxing fans are rabid and boxing events are often sold on a pay-per-view platform).

When Mayweather fought Ricky Hatton in 2007, the fight was a pay-per-view event in both the U.S. and the UK. Mayweather didn't get a piece of the UK pay-per-view revenue and Hatton wound up making more money than Floyd. This time, I'm sure Mayweather will be in on the UK pay-per-view pie.
Is the fight even going to be on Sky though?, Khan's last fight was on Boxnation and they don't do PPV. Interesting to see if Sky PPV will show the Khan Floyd fight if it does happen.

Maidana still has a slight lead with 53%. i don't think this is a legit poll though seeing that there has only been about 16k votes. You would expect more as both have much more fans than that.

Khan should be up by the end of tomorrow once the UK wakes up again

Maidana seems to get more votes when the UK is asleep, and Khans seems to slow down by 90%

9th is still a long way away though

Doug is a bitter Floyd hater, but he made some pretty points.

Maidana extended his lead last night by a %

but soon as it turned 7 am in the uk, it seems Khan has taken away Maidanas advantage

Khans UK vote remains his strength, more people are tweeting for people to vote, casual uk fans mainly

Everytime someone says they voted Khan on twitter, it has a chain effect on their followers, who do the same

So a guy with 700 followers tells his friends to vote for Khan, 10 or 20 will vote Khan...

              Khan is reaping the benefits

                Amir Khan (7065 votes)
                53%
                Marcos Maidana (8095 votes)

Khans getting a lot of votes now since the UK is up, for every 1 Maidana vote Khan get's around 10

Maidanas advantage only comes when the UK is alseep, when Khans numbers slow down, but every % gain Madiana makes, next morning is destroyed by the UK voters

1,000 votes is not easy to overturn tho.
