    • Truly don't want to see this fight for 2 reasons.

      1) If the fans pick Maidana , Floyd destroys him & shows how pathetic Broner is on the scale of things.
      2) Khan has a chance of the upset , Mayweather is not a big puncher. Khan could make it a boring fight & use speed & length to stay on the outside all night for points. Nothing I'd hate more than for that slimey bastard to get a chance at beating the champ after he's accomplished nothing in the sport of professional boxing.

      • I am POSITIVE this poll is being tampered with. Maidana had a comfortable lead for the first few days and you could start to see a tendency, then al of the sudden Khan is behind only 6%. Either Mayweather is in on this as well to justifiy a fight with Khan and then telling the media it is the fight fans themselves voted for OR Khan and his team are doing their part to secure it.

Khan sent out a tweet today, actually 3 tweets

take ur tin foil hat off

the only reason maidana was leading was because firstly the poll was made late at night when everyone in the uk is asleep

secondly we are a small country and boxing news isnt on the forefront like in the US, more and more people have heard about the poll and are voting, its not rocket science.

the poll has slowly picked up,

also madiana was beggin for votes long before khan

Maybe to do with Khan Telling people to vote (24 hours after vote opened) and having 1.5 Million twatter followers?

            • Just voted for Maidana due to him deserving the fight a lot more. And thinking about how Khan's last 4 fight performances were terrible.

Forgot if I quoted this.. It's all true

The real story is the espn poll that shows Maidana on average ahead by a full 20 percent in the States.

Khan barely beating Maidana in an international poll means literally nothing. The US numbers mean a lot however.

If Floyd was doing it see who would sell the most ppv's in the states then he should go with the ESPN poll. However, I think the poll was made to justify Khan since he will most likely win the poll fairly big. Now he can say "I dd what the fans wanted, and picked Khan."

Amir Khan: I think it will be Amir Khan. I don't know for sure, but my guess is that it's almost a done deal. So why did Floyd Mayweather Tweet that Marcos Maidana is also in the running and it's up to the fans choose? That's just Floyd being Floyd. Why did he Tweet that Devon Alexander was in the running to be his opponent last May when everyone knew it would be Robert Guerrero? Mayweather doesn't ever want it to look like anyone is dictating terms to him.

Floyd's gotta be the boss, or at least appear so to his fans (who readily believe everything he says and Tweets). As British boxing writer Gareth A. Davies noted in a recent column for The Telegraph, Mayweather is probably pissed that Khan went public with signing his part of the bout agreement. Mayweather does not abide with anyone stealing his thunder. If there's going to be a big fight announcement, he's going to make it, not the opponent.

Apart from all the usual ego s__t, Mayweather is an astute boxing businessman. Although Maidana is a more accepted opponent in the U.S. and among Latino fans, Khan is almost a household name in the UK (where the Pound is stronger than the dollar, boxing fans are rabid and boxing events are often sold on a pay-per-view platform).

When Mayweather fought Ricky Hatton in 2007, the fight was a pay-per-view event in both the U.S. and the UK. Mayweather didn't get a piece of the UK pay-per-view revenue and Hatton wound up making more money than Floyd. This time, I'm sure Mayweather will be in on the UK pay-per-view pie.
