So the man can't fight in his weight-class? Anyway Thurman hasn't even won a belt yet, or fought a top 10. I like Thurman, his time will come, even though he is still rough around the edges, but now is not his time.

I've worked in boxing for years, this is a put forward stunt by Floyd's management. You all need to read between the lines, he'll be fighting Khan. By asking fans to choose he knows that the hardcore fans - you lot - will pick Maidana, but the majority of fans, the general public will pick Khan.

All this means is that Mayweather gets the bigger fight in terms of revenue (Khan) and he can argue that it was the fight the 'fans' wanted to see.

It changes nothing. Mayweather vs Khan on 3rd May.

I've seen this kind of stunt numerous time. As boxing fans i'm quite surprised none of you picked up on it.

At some point you gotta respect the hardcores and throw them a bone. Hardcores are like the grass roots movements in politics that rouses a nation. Khan's twitter and Facebook fan base bely the actual climate of things. Maidana is on a career high and coming off a very high profile fight. Khan hasn't proven he still belongs in the conversation. That's the long and short of it.

I've supported Floyd through thick and thin but if he picks Khan in an obvious low risk money grab he'll lose me as a fan. I'll get my defensive fighter fix from somewhere else. Rigo or Ward perhaps. I'm sure there are others that feel exactly the same as me.

My vote: NEITHER, fight Pacquiao while that fight is still marketable or go ahead and hang em up or fight on regular Showtime not PPV.

Floyd: Majority of the fans vote Khan for May 3, so I'll fight KHAN...
                Khan: I told you so...
                Maidana: WTF...
                Pacman: Pleazzzzzzzzzzzzeee...

Come on, do you think Floyd would 'throw hardcore fans a bone' over the few extra million he'll earn by fighting Khan? Haha, no chance !

                  What should happen, is irrelevant.

Money is all that matters to the man known as MONEY, and that means Khan. This latest stunt is just a way to try and legitimise it when he's questioned 'why did you pick a guy who's lost 2 of his last 4 fights?' etc, etc.

"Because it's the fight the fans want to see"

Bla, bla. Come on guys, you all know what he's doing, he's done it for years !

Back to square one, Mayweather vs Khan.

However, as i've said numerous times, i believe this to be a great fight and i'm personally happy it'll happen (it WILL happen). Maidana, Jesus, just another puncher who'd get chewed up and deflated over 12 rounds, most probably. Khan will make it interesting for at least half of those 12 rounds!

What you deserve in boxing is seldom what you get. Money talks, it always has, it always will.

Amir Khan has done nothing, and Floyd knows this, which is why he is holding out so long, hopeing for some miracle to happen to justify this crap May Vs Khan fight.

And he also knows Maidana is taken with Broner, and Broner ain't taking no step aside money, Broner needs that revenge ASAP, beating Maidana after Mayweather beat Maidana takes alot of steam off a revenge victory.

Mayweather needs to open up the poll...Add Lara to the list, thats the most legit opponent at 154 available.

Because they are the absolute best that Gb has at the moment. Really Marcos is. But everyone was complaining about him fighting Khan instead. So now he gives you the choice to select Marcos, you get bitter because again he is about to face another credible opponent(In Marcos, not Khan.)
