First off...to the people saying Floyd is ducking or Manny is ducking, who exactly are they ducking? They both came up the hard way and beat everyone they put in front of them for the most part to get where they're at. This this level you fight the guys who are good and have a name, and you can't please everyone. Doesn't matter who you fight and beat cuz when you beat them someone's gonna say you should have fought fight B instead cuz fighter A is a joke, but really if you fought fight B instead and beat him people would be crying that you didn't fight fighter A...Floyd dominates Canelo and prior to that people thought Canelo is too big and strong and he's the biggest challenge, after he beats him Floyd just handpicked him and he's a coward and apparently right now he's ducking someone else by picking between Khan and Maidana...but I'm sorry is the guy who comes in at 149 and his fought everyone he had to really supposed to fight a no name fighter at 154 just cuz you computer warriors think he should? He's at the end of his career and this is when you put big fights together and reap the rewards of the hard work you put in at the beginning of your career and if he's picking between two B+/A- guys its only because he knocked off all the other guys they put out there

And Marquez is at an even later stage in his career than Floyd or Manny and fought tougher fights and you guys really expect him to fight Provodnikov in potentially his last fight ever?? :s for what?? Who has Provodnikov beat except for a B- level fighter at 140 that all of a sudden Marquez NEEDS to fight him and close out his career like that? Marquez has beaten Provodnikovs ALL HIS LIFE! Don't get it mistaken, this is a bad man you're talking about not some punk kid who's scared and you need to watch your mouths before you start running it and talking none sense about one of the greatest fighters in our sports history...if you're a boxing fan maybe you should show some respect and knowledge for the sport you claim to love...just a thought i dunno

Who exactly is Marquez fighting in may to help fulfill his legacy then? He is clearly ducking Provodnikov. Talking about ducking, put Bradley and Pac in Goldenboy & see how Mayweather would fight both. Bradley picked the wiser route by attempting to claim this and that to fight 3 rematches instead and re sign with Top Rank, promising so much sums per fight & blocking any attempt to fight Mayweather lol.

coincidentally 3 of the most exciting fighters in the sport today and with styles that are said to be "tailor-made" for counter punchers, but no one wants to fight these guys.

might have to do an avi change to one of them.

How is Marquez scared or a ducker when he has been saying what he wants from the get? People said he was scared to fight Pacquiao again but he said he would if Manny won the belt from Bradley. Which one is it? Can't have it both ways. Dude wants the belt and been stressing it for a long time. People use the word ducking too loosely.

Marquez is definitely an ATG. I have him in my top 50 and especially in the lower weights- featherweight and super feather.

But There's a reason he's not a in demand PPV fighter. The last few years, he has consistently taken soft fights and light touches in between trying to get fights with pacquiao.

The only reason why he performed better against PAC in Pac-JMM 3 or 4...was PAC's wear and tear against bigger fighters. While, JMM took the easy route going against light hitting B Class fighters.

JMM-Provo would be a legacy fight. JMM has a previous fake claim on the interim 140belt. NO one recognizes that. Beating Provo would mean JMM would be an undisputed legit champ in 4 weight classes.

But the way he's going about his business lately is pissing people off.
Whining, refusing drug tests, wanting rematches but not giving rematches, picking and choosing opponents to go for a fraudulent 5th division when really it's his 4th.

Marquez doesn't want to face a blood-thirsty, hungry animal in Provodnikov at this stage of his career who is also ten years younger. Marquez already made a name for himself and only wants one more big fight, a title shot and payday against either Bradley or Pacquiao. You can't blame Marquez. Provodnikov should fight Danny Garcia or Maidana. Even a fight against Matthysse and Thurman would be entertaining but I'm sure Provodnikov only wants the big fights against big names.

If he flat out says it outright that he'll face the winner of Bradley- PAC ..no matter who wins and backs his word up... Then fine. That's honorable.

It's better for him to take a vacation than not agreeing to face Provo. If he takes a soft fight with another fighter and avoids Provo, that won't go well with many.

If he takes the 10-12 month wait /vacation and faces the PAc-Bradley winner... he might not be as sharp though.

He should call up Barrera or Morales for a fight in Mexico if he doesn't face Provo. Provo would travel to Mexico as well.

Morales though has a fight on schedule I believe.

Barrera would come out of semi retirement to face Marquez. I'm certain of it. Besides, I read somewhere that Barrera is walking around at 145-150 nowadays. He can make welterweight.

JMM vs Barrera 2 ...if JMM won't face Provo. Do it.
Or alternatively, Marquez vs Chris John lol
