is it just me or does golovkin...

look like he's "lazy" when facing opponents he is easily picking away at?

ie: 1. eating curtis stevens hooks/cross, barely reacts to it and does not attempt to put up his guard.
    2. near the end of the fight against adama, it seemed like he was waiting for the referee to end it.

He was pretty cautious in the Stevens fight
Adama fight, he didn't look liked he cared about the fight.... like, the hook before the fight was stopped. Adama stumbled back and Golovkin stood there and wiped his nose

I didn't finish watching the adama fight but yes he looked like he was not that interested. He needs a real threat to bring out the best in him.

I think I can see that a little bit. But I've heard that Sanchez tried really hard to make him patient so maybe he's just listening to the corner? I notice though that he's got some UD's on his record over guys you'd think he would crush so maybe that's not it.

i'm slightly concerned that he may be falling in love with his power. it's all well and good patiently waiting for the chance to flatten c level opponents like adama, but it could seriously bite him in the ass when he finally gets a top opponent in there with him, especially a top quality defensive fighter (cough andre ward). a recent example of this is donaire, although he was actually fighting much stronger opposition than golovkin has been. donaire, like golovkin, is gifted with world class skills along with his world class power, but he got into bad habits during his knock out streak and it was that which left him wide open to a schooling when he fought the most talented opponent of his career in rigondeaux.

I didn't see the fight yesterday, did GGG go to the body like he usually does? That's the difference from him to your average head hunting power puncher. He's patient, cuts off the ring good, has a stiff jab, and the best body puncher in the game right now.. He's the real deal IMO...

It's quit the opposite, a puncher that understands that he doesn't have to load up. Golovkin is actually doing a lot of damage with arm punches, Donaire on the other hand kept looking for the big shot against Narvaez, Mathebula and Arce. So I don't see see those as concerns, Golovkin knows when and when not to load up.

yep that;'s the problem that's tricking people is that Golovkin fights down to the level of his opponents. Some fighters do that. He gets uninspired and complacent when his opponent sucks and he sort of just eats their shots cus he's bored with them. But when an opponent is going HARD on him like Macklin was, Golovkin turns into beast and KTFO them in 2 rounds

I dont know what it was, but this Adama guy is clearly below average. He stood still, no skills, no power, not even action and agresiveness so as to make the fight interesting. And yet Golovkin went seven rounds when an elite level fighter would have destroyed him in 3 or 4. Lets be honest, this Adama guy could have been replaced by a bag of dirty laundry and the laundry would have made it a more exciting fight.

I agree. It does annoy me that he gets lazy like that because against a decent opponent he may get seriously hurt. Anderson Silva did that against Weidman the first time and got dropped despite previously having a good chin in his career. Golovkin is freakin' almost 32 and needs to get his guard up because one of these times he may get hurt and lose a fight because of this lazy b.s. He got the fame and now he is riding the easy path and looks like he lost some of his killer instinct.
