He did beat Matthew Macklin, a good win. But he hasn't beaten any top tier middleweights. Then again, he and Martinez are the only top tier middleweights. I see Geale, Murray, Macklin, and Sturm as all being around the same level. Then you have guys like Quillin, N'dam, Lee, and Rubio. I'd say Golovkin has one decent win and several over fringe contenders. Really, when you think about it, Geale has a better resume. Golovkin's ranking to me is largely based on his activity and passing the eye test.

My thoughts too.Martinez first after he has cashed out versus Cotto.he deserves it.then Sturm after he decides he's made enough.fact is Sturm can fight GGG anytime,lose and still fill a 50k sweater stadium afterwards against anybody.

Right now Felix has a belt,and that gives him options.again like Martinez,he's earned and deserves to do his own thing.folk will call it a duck,but we know its business.

Felix knows he has limitations,but he also has a steel like determination and a chin like no other GGG has faced.i don't think GGG would stop Sturm,IMO anyway.

Maybe GGG's handlers know Sturm could wreck GGG's run of KO stoppages,a feit they proudly market him with.

Martinez vs GGG will happen it is inevitable,after GGG beats say Lee and Geale,I think we'll see it in the fall,say around September time.
