I saw someone post about the similarities between boxing and chess. Reading this crap really highlights the fact that many people play chess but they would never call themselves an expert, whereas so many internet geeks think they're boxing experts but have never boxed a round in their lives

          It's called analyzing the game.

You do it for so many years you can be pretty good at it. Not everyone can do it but can't say that you need to be an elite chess player or boxer or football or hockey player to be able to analyze and give your opinion.

Did the the opening post sound lime an analysis based on years of observation? First off it was so inaccurate it was laughable, but to label elite fighters as anything generic and shows a lack of understanding or respect to the dedication they given to becoming as good as they are. The use of animal comparisons was comical too.

It seemed more like a thinly veiled derision of a style of boxing the TS doesn't care for and applying a simplistic solution to a problem many professional athletes have attempted first hand. A good analyzer should be objective and have respect for what they observe and the protagonists. Prejudice clouds opinions and usually leads to nonsense like the opening post.

If you are just commenting about one post, then no problem but when I read it, it appeared that you were trying to put more than that one poster in that same boat.

It would take much more than that.

How do you get Floyd to sign on the dotted line is the real question? He is not willing to do it with this eras riskier opponents (Manny, Martinez, ....), how can one possibly think that Floyd would approve those prime fighters?

He signed to Manny the first time around it was the other party who didn't and felt the commission should do there jobs.
