I still don't think there was ever an injury to begin with. And that's f**ked up that Jhonny's career has been on hold because of GBP. Mares vs. Gonzalez was on 8/24/13. Gonzalez could have had 2-3 fights by May of this year.

I understand Gonzalez not wanting to wait around for Mares to recover from his injuries. They are both going to take other fights instead.

If either of them lose their upcoming fights. It will take some excitement from the rematch taking place later this year. If Mares ends up fighting a tune up fight on the Mayweather undercard.

I am not going to pay 70 bucks to watch May vs Khan and Mares vs a tune up and two other b.s fights.

I do understand that Mares wants to fight on Cinco De Mayo weekend in all. This fight with Gonzalez needs to be a main event on another date maybe mid June.

Mares getting his get backs is more important then fighting on Cinco De Mayo. Something is going on with Mares's camp. He doesn't need to be fighting on Mayweather undercards. When he can be in the main event and get the rematch with Gonzalez.

Lol Rigo gets nothing of beating on Mares now he is not on his level nor does he deserve a shot at the king I say let let him regain his glory and Rigo dump top rank, and then Rigo can add another kid to his lineage.

Good idea for Mares to take a softer touch first if that's indeed the route he takes. Getting right back in with Gonzalez to be KO'd again would be disastrous for his confidence.
