  • Arum is an idiot, he had Floyd and Oscar under his banner and he couldn't reach 1 million with either one. Then Oscar fights Pacman and gives Pacman the exposure. Pacman reached a few fights over 1 mil with Cotto and Marquez but his pay per views have been going south and it's mostly due to Arum and being an old promorer. He's lazy!

Imagine he had Floyd and DLH under his banner and neither one had more than 1mil pay per views and we know what they did on their own. This same guy is talking about the business of pay per view. He went to China and it was a bust, why do you think Pacman is coming back to the states where he has to pay taxes.

rememeber all that nonsense? posters like floydslostballs argued that for years now he's changing his tune. NSB can be a real cesspool sometimes.

      • He is kind of right and Arum loves that 90% because they are people he can more easily sucker, the 10% is hard for him to get over on (for the most part) but that 90% he can get them to eat any line of garbage he wants to sell.

Arum doesn't really want knowledgeable fans although he will take them if they are willing to throw their money at him and demand he take it, he certainly doesn't want the percentage to change and making better under cards probably makes people more interested in boxing~. Which has it's benefits to the sport and even Arum but it changes the game for him and he has no interest in the game changing at all.

Well, Pac's last ppv did abysmal numbers. How else do you explain it?

Pretty simple. The Pacquiao train was derailed with a knockout loss in his previous fight, not to mention he fought Rios. You don't need the undercard to explain it.

All of Pac's previous PPV undercard were ****ty. The numbers didn't suffer. How do you explain that?

                  Exactly.

Chavez build up a big fan base fighting on Tyson under cards.

Canelo has been built up fighting on Floyd under cards, just because it's cheaper/lazier to throw on some bull**** doesn't mean the fans don't pay attention.

                  • What Arum doesn't get is that it's the 10% that tell their co-workers and family if a card is worth buying. It creates buzz, when you're the go to boxing guy family/casuals ask you what you think of a card. A lot of times it's the difference between a buy and a pass.

So yes the 10% are the most vocal.

Yea there is that also, now I will say in my dealings with people the talk always starts about the main even and is the bulk of the conversation but they do almost always ask about the rest of the card and if anything/anyone is worth seeing on it and if the card should be worth it as a whole.

Plus it is not even much more expensive to put on a good under card, the way GBP does it sure that does cost a bit more but Arum can line up solid up and comers and lesser known fighters then put them in even match-ups or even sort of even match-ups because Arum does want his guys to win.
