Floyd and Manny re the only reason boxing is relevant. Take a look at any credible P4P list. Its litered with guys in their 30s. And there's no current youngsters that can knock any of them off. Sometimes fights don't happen. The RJ-BHop rematch didn't happen when it should. And would have been just as, if not more relevant than Floyd-Pac in determining who was the best of that era. Tito-Mosley never happen. Tyson-Bowe never happen. Leonard-Hawk never happen. And the list goes on and on. Boxing will be fine if they never fight. What boxing is gonna have trouble recovering from is if they contine to knock off youngsters and no one takes the torch. Arum realizes it too. Which is why he's reachin' trying to tuen Mikey into a star by matching him with Pac. That screams desperation.

Hey man there's no doubt, obviously they have been HUGE for the sport. All I'm saying is, when the top two faces in the sport -- the flagships of the sport, can't find a way to come together for the biggest money making event in the sport's history...it just sets a horrible example. Now we got an entire sport that's damn near split in half due to petty differences. Of course it goes way deeper and way beyond than just Floyd & Manny, but it's a just a terrible precedent.

But yeah I'm aware that without them, the sport would have been in a coma.
