FS1 Thursday boxing thread: Collazo vs Ortiz

Obviously the professional broadcast crew and judges saw differently, but I saw a rather close fight. Gomez had more power and it showed, but Arnett did a lot of things well. Both guys fought tentatively at times. Those cards were a bit wide even though Gomez was the clear winner.

I think Arnett did better early on but after like the 4th, I saw Gomez taking over and landing the much cleaner shots. There were some close rounds for sure but I kept seeing Arnett getting hurt and then with the droppage, I thought 4 or 5 points was a pretty good margin although I missed like 1.5 rounds. I'm not sure how that stacks up with the judges scores but I personally didn't feel it was THAT close by the end of the fight. IMO, a close fight is like 2 rds.

I have Collazo making it very tough for Ortiz; especially late in the fight. All in all, "Ortiz" should get the nod.

I'd be very suprised if Ortiz is able to stop Collazo. The only fight I've ever seen Collazo clearly lose was to Shane Mosley. Other than that, I thought he beat Hatton and gave Berto some major fits.

Collazo was very good in his prime.

If this was Collazo from 2007, I'd think he has a great chance at the upset.

But today's version I can't see winning. Love to see it though, rooting for him.

Underrated, good skilled contender of his time. Would give most top guys some issues.
