FS1 Thursday boxing thread: Collazo vs Ortiz

Arnett got beaten up and dropped. That's a 2 round difference by itself man.

Obviously the professional broadcast crew and judges saw differently, but I saw a rather close fight. Gomez had more power and it showed, but Arnett did a lot of things well. Both guys fought tentatively at times. Those cards were a bit wide even though Gomez was the clear winner.

Arnett was game but I liked what I saw from the videos I saw of Gomez. He needs to not stand there as much though..jab every time there is a couple seconds of lull. I don't know why all these dudes think you can win a fight by coasting......I hate that stuff. If your opponent wants to catch his breath and gives you an opening, well you fill it with a jab and close the gap, lay into the body, especially if you are the shorter guy.

Common sense would tell you that landing more punches and appearing to be the more active fighter can only help you , especially if the other guy makes it clear that he isn't going to engage.
