Hey..my brother you might right and if Mendez was his usual self in that fight then he will get toasted once more. However, if he was sick because of weight issues then I'll guarantee you we will have a different fight next time around. I don't think before that fight Mendez had ever been down..never mind knocked out so (without taking anything away from Rances) something didn't seem right with him.

Well, for those of us who have been watching these fighters I knew from the beginning that something was not right with Mendez. He might not have a granite chin but he has never been that weak even in the ending rounds. I know that Rances has some pop but to me it was more Mendez than it was Rances. Mendez can take punches a lot better and the reason I know this is because even when his gloves were up he was still getting shook...that was very strange.
Anyhow, from what I heard is that he waited until like the last two weeks to loose like 14 lbs and that must of affected him big time. So, if he looses the weight gradually this time then I think we will have a different fight in our hands. Hell, I heard he was feeling dizzy while he was waiting to enter the ring. I mean..don't get me wrong I am just repeating what was said....it could be just excuses so I can't say that's a fact. All I know is that I have never seen him that weak in any fight before.
So, for those people that have probably only seen Mendez once and saw what happened stop passing judgement without having a good background on the guy. These are the kind of fans who watch a fight or two and think they are all of a sudden expects of the game. Just my two cents.
Why did he go below the 130 limit then instead of staying at exActly 130?

It's a good thing you are not a promoter because any promoter would have done the same thing for their fighter. It's as simple as that.

It's a good question and when I saw that he was 128.5 I was wondering why the hell would he be that low instead of showing up at 130lbs exact. But I really can't answer that.

Wow, can't believe they got it right, let's see if we can get a competent ref next time.

Except Bob Arum with Rigo. At this time most people (I don't saying you specifically) say that its fine that a promoter go against the fighter. I agree with you, a promoter is a sort of a lawyer, is to help and defend

Then in Minessota they must disqualify any fighter with a punch after the bell, because this is pretty usual in boxing in the heat of a fight. The problem here is that Barthelemy hit hard and nock Mendez, because if not everything will be fine. Most of all, Mendez never turned around, he also continue fighting. Its fine, lets have a good fight again and I hope the right outcome will come again

This crazy world in which we live in. Barthelemy is no longer a champion.

I wouldn't doubt that Mendez was a little weak, bro. I've never seen Barthelemy look so sharp, with so much pop. Anything is possible, but I saw enough in that fight to be willing to bet on Rances in the return match. I didn't feel that way before the fight, although I knew he would do well. I just hope the rematch happens...and soon!
