Groves should focus on the type of splits he will be able to negotiate if he was to beat Froch, not what he should get for rematching a fight with him that he lost. I understand he is looking for his best interests like any man would do in that situation...But he was looking desperate to get this fight and Froch was kind of putting it off for a while and Hearn was giving indications that it was a struggle to sort out..For the IBF order it, he should kinda be happy with the conditions they give him, it suck for him but lets be real about it.

I kind of like Groves, not a fan so to speak, he got my respect with the Froch fight but lets be honest he lost it at the end of the day and losers of fights (a fight where he wasn't the draw) don't get to dictate conditions of rematches usually do they?

He is now just gonna have to go for it, accept this and think about the splits he will be able to command should he beat Froch...

True but I don't see why he'd be so against having Matchroom promote a couple of his future fights.

Eddie Hearn is clearly a huge admirer of Groves and has already done a great job for him. Groves had done absolutely nothing to earn a fight with Carl Froch the first time and Hearn had a lot to do with making that fight a reality for him.

If Groves beats Froch, it isn't suddenly going to turn him into an international superstar. He'd be a star in Britain and Matchroom would likely make him a bigger star. Then he could go to America. If he thinks beating Froch in a rematch is going to make him a star overseas, he's mistaken IMO.

          George:

I hope you now understand that the "IBF" did not expect you would win in your last fight with Froch, did not want you to win in that fight, and are now telling you to get lost by trying to dictate to you how much money you should earn. Tell the "IBF" and Froch to shove off. The last I checked it takes two to fight. Let Froch go rent a stadium and try to sell tickets for an event of him punching himself. Do not accept this insult and we hope other fighters will learn from this. Stop giving away all of your authority. Fight your own fights, write your own contracts, and stay in control. Stop being some else's agent.

An 85/15 split is the standard split in a champion vs mandatory situation. Groves was trying to change the rules to get more money.

hahaha! good job groves for taking less money. I actually kind of hope froch vacates the title. he is nearing the end & a Chavez fight on HBO would be interesting. groves is lucky to have even got a shot in the first place. i'm not sure his ranking but the IBF has said he's not in the top 3 which would mean he wouldn't be fighting for the vacant title... slow clap for groves for being such a genius... no froch rematch, no vacant title & no 7 digit paycheck. regardless froch will be getting his big payday rather he fights groves or Chavez. if the rematch doesn't happen it's a shame for English boxing fans but I would laugh my ass of if froch vacates. groves & his team would be looking pretty ******. sure froch would draw hate from the fans but do you really think he cares? look at his life. he is doing pretty good...

so groves turns down a reported 7 figure offer for a rematch by froch, complains he is owed more and now only gets a pittance. great job team groves......

This is pretty funny to be honest.

It really is the epitome of shooting yourself in the foot.

He should take the 15% (though he does deserve more) and learn from it.

Not sure he will. But want the fight to happen.
