who the hell does Groves thinks he is anyways? Now im on Froch's side to KO groves spark out and cement his status as UK's ATG 168 pounder. Yes ATG. Then Degale will win the WBC strap and Groves will come begging.

Bet he is wishing he wouldn't have turned down that money now.

I'm with Groves here...he's putting his health on the line here too, dont you think a 85/15 split, in a high profile UK fight is a little ridiculous?!

It's the standard split - why don't people get this?

I've said it also. It was in the Groves interview.

o sure its that bad for him long term if he didnt want to resign with matchroom but obviously short term its not good. depends on what he really wanted. 1 thing for sure tho is that at this point froch can careless about a belt so nothing guarantees that he will even get that rematch if froch doesnt want. froch has at least 3 4 other good paydays options and if he is willing to move to 175 at least 2 3 more; so froch dont really need him to get a payday.

Good to see an organization standing by their rules.

Will be interesting to see whether Groves has lost some pity from the general public from all these appeals. When you beg for a rematch non stop for 3 months, only to turn down a 7 figure payday and subsequently appeal a standard mandatory split, it certainly doesn't look good.

Will also be interesting to see how much he'll actually take home. From what I'm hearing Hearn isn't planning on offering Groves more than 650k which is only slightly more than he made for the first fight. His primary goal is to make Froch as much as possible, especially if Groves doesn't sign a contract.

However, it does appear that the original offer of 1m, an immediate rematch + a 3 fight plan with matchroom still stands.
