Former WBO junior welterweight champion Mike Alvarado is at the center of another storyline outside of the ring. On Thursday morning, Denver news station(CBS4) report that police believe Alvarado was the man behind pushing a car intentionally into Sloan's Lake, a lake near Denver, Co.
Detective are unaware of the motivations behind submerging the green Cadillac Escalade, but one thing remains a constant, Alvarado's troubles outside of the ring. Alvarado, a year ago adorn a scar to his face prior to his rematch with Brandon Rios due to an alleged altercation outside of the ring and rumors of fighters being nervous to train with Alvarado "...because they didn't want to get in trouble, didn't help matters."
Alvarado, a talented bruiser, who over the last year has transformed into more of a boxer-puncher also boasts one of the most impressive amateur wrestling pedigrees ever, he never lost match in high school - ever. Though Alvarado may have finally come into his own as a boxer it appears the out of the ring antics may be taking a toll on his career, which may have contributed to loss last year against Ruslan Provodnikov.
An eye witness at the scene of incident explains she saw a man let a women out of the car, get back into the vehicle steer to the lake and hop out before the car went into the embankment. Alvarado’s trainer, Henry Delgado stated that the car belongs to Alvarado’s sister and was stolen.
Reports to if the car was stolen and anymore information as it develops we becoming in the following days.
