How is HBO losing money? They get money from subscribers. Boxing is a pimple on an elephants ass cheek to them. If they can get ratings that hit 1-1.5 million per fight they are happy.

And Bradley Marquez was a successful PPV:

    375,000 buys X $60 = $22.5 million
    Gate - $ 3 million

Total Revenue $25.5 million (doesn't include sponsors, Mexican TV rights, international PPV, etc.)

    Bradley's purse - $4.1 million
Marquez purse - $4 million (the other $2 mil was from Mexican TV rights)

    Profit after purses: $14.4 million

Then you subtract promotion, undercard purses and other expenses out of that.

Top Rank is definitely NOT losing money on these PPVs. If anyone is losing money it is ShowTime.

He can fight those fighters when they are not signed to Top Rank. When did the: Marquez, Canelo, and Cotto fights take place? And did those fights have a lot of trouble making?

Why is that? Who was the ONE person that had ZERO say in the negotiations that Floyd has a track record of not working with since he left that organization?

        • Pacquiao vs Bradley 2 might very well be the last PPV of Bradleys career. He loses and he'll go back to fighting in front of a few hundred fans.

          • I'm calling it right now, Bradley will sue TR for breach of contract before it's all said and done. Other than Pacquiao and maybe Marquez, who in the hell is @ Top Rank that Tim can fight to make 6 million dollars? WHO?

                • MORAL OF THE STORY BOXING=BUSINESS!!!

Like many have tried to say all along it isn't a simple game of name calling chicken or making simple memmes about boxers.

If there was someone who i felt was smart about his future carreer ambition than it was Bradley. He also comes across the most sincere.

What i can stand from these kind of interviews(maybe i missed something tho), is the lack of two crucial questions:

1= how long does this TR+HBO contract last and how can he get out of the contract.

2=Maybe even 10 times as important, did the brother even listened to A COUNTER OFFER from goldenboy/showtime!!!!!

Lopez and Maidana are both advised by Haymon so TR is not an option. Actually most of the WW talent is Haymon advised so I don't see TR making any moves in that division.

                    • Its simple for Tim. HBO will pay more for his fights than Showtime.
