    The Truth about Anthony Mundine

A lot of people have been asking who the hell Anthony Mundine is & why he is targeting a showdown with Floyd Maywether Jr. Well here is his story:

Anthony Mundine was the biggest star and highest paid player in the NRL (National Rugby League) which is like the Australian version of NFL in terms of popularity. He left in 2000 mid-season due the politics of the game & racisim and turned pro boxer at age 25 with no prior experience.

He was a Super Middlewight for most of his career. His biggest fights were against Mikkel Kessler, Danny Green, Antuwn Echols, Daniel Geale, Shane Mosley & Sven Ottke. He captured the WBA 'regular' title twice, the IBO middleweight title (doesn't really count) and the WBA interim junior middleweight title.

All his 51 pro fights have been on PPV and he has made a career and big money fighting 'Aussies'. People in Australia pay big money to see him because he is an entertainer, trash talker and can sell fight really well. He is not afraid of the 'bad guy' image. It is true that most people don't like him down under because of his outrages comments and remarks - but people still pay to watch.

No doubt he was a great athlete and possessed talent as a boxer. He could of been on level with Andre Ward and other top super middleweights and middleweights but he never stepped up competition earlier in his career.

That's not entirely true. He actually stepped his competition up too early, fighting Ottke in only his 10th pro fight with no previous experience.

He then fought Kessler in about his 20th. The problem was that he realised he could keep making a lot of money without fighting guys that he could easily lose to, and so has kept his competition at the domestic level basically since Kessler.

He stepped up early enough. That wasn't the problem. The problem was that he didn't stay at that level, and has been making too much money against soft touches for much too long.

The best guys he fought were all at the start of his career (apart from Geale, but he was still just a top domestic guy at the time). The entire second half has been nothing but lots of talk and no walk.

Oh, and for those who aren't aware (especially Americans), Mundine said after the 9/11 attacks... "They call it an act of terrorism, but if you can understand religion, and our way of life, it's not about terrorism. It's about fighting for God's law, and America's brought it upon themselves". Mundine is a ******.

You forgot to add the triangle theory that proves Mundine is better than Ali, SRR and SRL.

I don't think he would ever get a fight with Floyd for the following reasons:

                  1. Floyd doesn't know who he is
                  2. Mundine isn't big enough in the USA and won't give Floyd a big payday like he had with Alvarez
                  3. Mundine is way too big and strong for Floyd and probably just as fast. Floyd wouldn't take the fight even if Mundine was a mandatory.

In saying that, I do think Mundine would easily beat the likes of Carlos Molina, Canelo Alvarez. A fight with Lara is a close call but I'd say Lara would be too craft for Mundine and his age will catch up to him.

This the same Mundine who got knocked out by Garth Wood? Mundine is awful, absolutely awful. That Shane Mosley fight was without a doubt, the worst show I have ever been to.
