I disagree with the initial assessment. Lucas looked great at 135 but moving up to 140 he looked like a blown up lightweight. Look at some of the posts I made before the fight where I said the one factor, the biggest that everyone was avoiding was Garcia's size compared to Lucas.

The same could be said of Garcia. He is a big 140lber but honestly I don't see his power, speed, reach going up with him at 147. If he makes the move I hope he makes it slowly. He will have lots of challenges and will have to change his style and avoid getting hit a lot.

Nah man....you're not alone with that frame of thought.....IMO Swift would beat all the studs from 140-147 with the exception of the 3 Kings....Floyd, Pac and Marquez......Bradley and Swift is toss up fight imo so I see TB as a winnable fight for Swift....but those 3 veteran Kings are capable of schooling the young king atm

I think Timothy Bradley and Keith Thurman would beat him.

I'm not even sure Garcia beats Malignaggi never mind the likes of Thurman and Bradley.

Garcia's getting overrated by some people after a lucky break in the Matthysse fight.

He's resilient, big and strong at 140 but he struggles with movers and will have his hands full with a puncher his own size at welter.

Danny Garcia can't beat everyone at 140 !!!

I believe he is an average boxer, hyped up for his Puerto Rican heritage and Philadelphia community !

He loses to Khan in a rematch, I believe 100% in this

He beats Broner, Maidana, Porter, Alexander possibly, Brook is a close fight, I think he'll beat Khan again, so yeah, I pretty much agree with you.

I don't think he can beat Bradley though, that's his ceiling and Manny/Floyd are well out of his reach.

Thurman v Garcia could be great, I think Garcia edged it.

A lucky break? Come on man, don't let personal dislikes get in the way of viewing fighters, I hate Floyd and in the past I've hated guys like Toney, Bowe and co. but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate them.

Garcia outboxed, out toughed and out fought Matthysse. It was a good fight, FOTY contender but no way was it a lucky break. What was so lucky about it?

I don't dislike Garcia so you can cross that off your list.

Reality is, he was down on the cards until Matthysse's eye swelling. Most had Matthysse 4-2 up, personally I saw a case for 5-1. Go back and watch it to see what you think, be sure not to count blocked shots, because they don't score points.

It was nowhere near a FOTY contender either, I thought it was okay but the fight was a let-down for many people who believed there would be more action.

It was a terrific fight but having it 4-2 after 6 as many did is cool, how does that mean Garcia was lucky? You still haven't answered the question.

All it shows is that Garcia is a slow starter, we all knew that. It also shows that he fought better in the second half of the fight and pretty much dominated it. You act as if the swelling occurred due a headbutt or elbow or Matthyyse walked into a lamp post, now that would have been lucky for Garcia.

Danny was the better man, get over it, he out fought the so called machine, you act like you lost money on this fight. You should just have listened when I said Garcia would win, yet Matthysse was this indestructible monster cos he'd beaten Peterson.

Garcia is the best at 140 bar none.
