As far as the comment from Garcia goes, it is truly a hypocritical comment on his part. Let me rephrase that, if he is against all illegal immigrants such as I am, then his comments are valid (depending on these Cuban's immigration status) although he did make a generalized statement reffering to all "these Cubans". But if he supports illegal immigration from South of the border like the majority of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans in CA do, then he is truly a disgustingly hypocritical human being.

There are millions upon millions of Mexican illegal aliens that are a burden to our country (especially CA) and he has the audacity to say "these Cubans are lucky we let them stay in the US", WTF? I'd love to hear his opinion on illegal immigration in CA

Cubans that arrive in the United States are given immediate asylum. After one year, they're eligible permanent residency. Thereafter, they may become citizens if they so choose. Not even rich Europeans receive such favor.

Residents, yes. And I know cause we were granted a green card upon arrival. But they don't AUTOMATICALLY become CITIZENS like he said.

I dont mean automatically as in the moment they touch US soil they are citizens. But if a Cuban touches US soil, they will be granted asylum and allowed to apply for a Greencard after 1 year. Every immigrant is not given asylum and simply allowed to get a green card a year later like cubans. $10K? Sounds like your mom got ripped off
