Comments Thread For: Vanes Martirosyan Inks Promotional With Dan Goossen

Sherman Oaks, CA - Make way, Chris Arreola! There's another "Nightmare" in the Goossen Tutor Promotions stable of boxers, as promoter Dan Goossen today announced the signing of veteran world title challenger and world-ranked contender, Vanes "The Nightmare" Martirosyan.

The 6-0 tall, 27-year old Armenian native, who has lived in Glendale, California since emigrating there with his family at age 4, has compiled an impressive 33-1-1 record with 21 knockouts in his nearly nine years as a professional boxer while fighting under Bob Arum's Top Rank, Inc. banner. The orthodox-style super welterweight was recently ranked as the #1 contender in most of the world sanctioning organizations. He formerly held the NABF Super Welterweight and NABO Junior Middleweight titles. [Click Here To Read More]

    A typical BUM!

This guy NEVER had the fire to be something special! How the hell does he have so many wins (the who's who of cab drivers!) and NEVER won a tittle OR was in a fire fight! He is a board certified BUM!

Good signing for him with a neutral company. Now he can fight GB fighters too. But I don't really think he's getting his hands on any belts. He's strictly a name on someone's resume, and a mediocre one at that.

You only leave Arum when he thinks you have nothing to offer, hopefully Vanes proves him wrong.

Probably the best move for him right now. I can't say that I'm a fan of his but Arum could've done a lot more for this guy. Bob pretty much ignores his guys to focus on Pac.

He can probably fight GBP fighters now. Though I don't remember the last GbP vs Goosen fight, can some one name one? Wasn't Williams with Goosen when Canelo vs Williams was signed? I don't think Williams was with GBP was he?

In Bob's defense, he did try if I recall. Vanes just declined fights most of the times. If I remember correctly, I could be wrong, but I think it was Vanes who was rejecting fights left and right. I'm pretty sure he rejected Angulo, and rejected a Lara rematch for the final eliminator.

Vanes always has a shot of upsetting a big name because he does pack a decent punch, but he gasses in fights. He needs to really concentrate on his stamina.
