Why would Marquez be scared of Provodnikov? There's really no reason for him to take the fight. He's been looking for a title in his 5th weight class. Ruslan doesn't provide that opportunity. I don't think Marquez would be motivated in a fight against Ruslan. A win wouldn't be a great career achievement nor a big money fight.

If we put things in perspective, Marquez is almost 40 years old and practically semi-retired (only fought once last year). He's only going to fight one or two more fights. I'm sure he has his eye on the Pacquiao/Bradley winner.

But Marquez is old and riding his career down, he has paid his dues and has nothing to prove, especially to someone with such a insignificant career and resume as Provodo, he's good, but not good enough for Marquez to be called a coward.
