JMM is a great fighter but not a first time ballot HOF. His resume isn't great. Pac made him the person he is today. I was once a huge fan of JMM. I followed him and his brother their entire career. As a boxer & fan of the sport I enjoyed watching JMM. I lost respect for him when he said he's been robbed 6x in his career. Great champs accept defeat the same way they take their victories. He begged PAC for rematch after rematch and got them. PAC asks for a rematch and he's not man enough to grant him one. He could have made$15 mil guaranteed, win or lose. And still have the vicious KO to his name.

It's a brutal sport and I give credit to all of those who step into the ring. And I also understand the business part of the sport. But we can't forget the great champs and legends that paved the way. Back in the days guys like Leonard, hearns, hagler, Duran fought each other for pride. They gave us great fights and never ducked each other.

The great Muhamad Ail once said that "great champions are not known for going undefeated but for coming back from defeat"

Yeah I liked that idiotic statement where Marquez, widely regarded by most as an ATG , isn't even a first-ballot HOF. The best part was where a man who jumped two weight divisions to face the best fighter of his generation as well as facing the second best a total of 4 times get criticism for not fighting the best.

Becareful what you whish for Provo

I seen JMM being chased by Juan Diaz, & Michael Kasetas.
What he did to both of those young guys were criminal.
That uppercut that he hit Michael with still stands out as HOF worthy!
No one puts punches together better than MJJ. Styles makes fights.
Not only will stop Provo, and have you looking for another fight w/his stablemate again MP.

At 40 years old and a 4 weight champ with wins over Pacquiao, Barrera, Casamayor, Salido, Diaz, Katsidis and a host of others, Provodnikov doesn't really bring anything new for an aging fighter looking for the biggest fights. Prov is not even the best, or even second best in his weight class.

That's if they were actually defeated in the first place. Not a blind/incompetent/corrupt judge giving them a loss.

In the case of ALL 3 Pacquiao fights that he didn't win, the overwhelming opinion of fans/press is that he won both II and III and fight 1 was close but could have gone to him. Fans who actually saw the John and Norwood fights would mostly agree Marquez should have gotten the decisions. I can't talk about his debut fight because I have never seen it. The Bradley fight was a draw in my eyes.

Your wrong, Thats the only way to prove yourself, it's by going against other great fighters. You're as great as the fighters you beat. Marquez put in the work, he made himself the fighter who he is today.
