I can think of perhaps 5 other that should have been consider beside Roach, who's only win was against a guy moving up from 135 to 147 and who was not even ranked at welter but some how was the ticket for Pac being the number one contender .

      This is strange.

      Robert Garcia:

      M. Garcia: Salido, Martinez, Lopez
      Donaire: Darchinyan
      Maidana: Lopez, Broner(upset)
      Gradovich: Dib

      Roach:

      Pacquiao: Rios
      Provodnikov: Alvarado
Cotto: Rodriguez (Not even ranked in the top 10)

I don't know if i'm missing any one else but WTF? The Broner upset along with the rest should have put Garcia miles ahead.

I think Robert Garcia should have won it. I would have liked to see Abel Sanchez or Joel Diaz win it.

I have always thought the BWAA are the most legit awards, but come on! Really? Roach? How about Robert Garcia having champions such as; Gradovich, Mikey, Maidana, plus all the young kids he has. How come Nacho has never won this award? Sometimes americanwrites voters can be so bias.

Floyd senior is the reason Floyd Junior is ranked p4p the best fighter in the world. Floyd didn't get as good as he is on his own. The ignorance in the boxing community is ridiculous. People act is if Floyd became a great boxer completely on his own. He wouldn't have dominated Guerrero, Canelo, and pretty much every fighter he has faced if it wasn't for Floyd Sr. implementing good boxing fundamentals in Jr. from a young age.

Turn it around in an alternate universe where Roach trains Garcias fighters and vice versa...

                Freddie Roach:
                M. Garcia: Salido, Martinez, Lopez
                Donaire: Darchinyan
                Maidana: Lopez, Broner(upset)
                Gradovich: Dib

                Robert Garcia:
                Pacquiao: Rios
                Provodnikov: Alvarado
Cotto: Rodriguez (Not even ranked in the top 10)

BWAA: Freddie Roach wins Trainer of the Century with amazing 2013.

I would've given it to Angel Garcia. No one gave his son a chance against Lucas (even me).

Robert Garcia was definitely the man this year, even with the Rios loss! I don't even remember Freddie being in the corner when Provodnikov beat Alvarado. What i'm not cool with is that Freddie told the media he wanted Manny to fight Provodnikov over Bradley, because of Bradley's "boxing skills." He could of kept that to himself. That made Manny look bad in my opinion.

Didn't even think he was in the running let alone that he would win this award.
