What a crock. Nothing against Rigo himself. The manager *****es about the opponent not being competitive (several times) but takes no accountability as to why his fighter couldn't seal the deal if this opponent wasn't competitive. I'm not complaining about Rigo, just his manager's piss poor argument, which makes his fighter look bad. Instead of elevating his fighter he's dragging other guys down. Maybe Rigo just needs someone who can represent him better.

So they told Bob before the fight that Agbeko wasn't a good opponent, and Rigo's manager still offered him the fight and let him sign after they told him they wanted a different fighter, maybe I missed something, but how is this Bob's fault?

Arum may diss rigo but has delivered the cash.

I am a big Rigondeaux fan ..and Arum annoyingly bad mouths him but Arum did deliver him about 750k-900k for the Donaire fight which is good bread for a non-english speaking fighter on American TV. I wonder how much he got Rigo for stay busy fight vs Agbeko I would guess at least 300k but don't know for sure..so Bob isn't doing all bad by Rigo his words seem ****** but cash is always one of the greatest expressions of appreciation in the business world.

yeah I don't know. I've watched plenty of Agbeko fights, he's always been a game and active fighter. And he was a credible name, which I think is why HBO sought him out. If team Rigo thought otherwise, I'd have to question their logic.

the problem with a lot of you nsb posters is you're in love with fighters, not with boxing. There's nothing wrong with liking Rigondeaux (like I do) and just admitting he could have done more in that fight (like I do). Most of the blame lies with Agbeko, but Rigo is far, FAR too talented and strong a hitter to coast imo. I don't think Arum is right, and I don't think Gary Hyde is either. It's not about picking sides, in fact I think it's quite obvious they're all ****ing wrong. Pointing fingers at one another isn't gonna solve this problem and taking this to the media will only make it worse.

Ultimately, Rigo deserves better respect from Arum and if people are tuning out of his main event then he's not a main event fighter, throw him on undercards. Pay him a little less per fight and try to get him more dates. Start there and adjust where needed, but keep your ego out of the media. Open letters, smh, you guys are grown men who have each others phone number.

I don't think Floyd Mayweather is more exciting than Rigo. The difference is Floyd's opponents are not afraid to run up on him cause of Floyd's lack of power. Nobody's running up on Rigo like that. Can you imagine guys like Baldomir, Guerrero, Ortiz, Hatton, Cotto running up on Rigo the way they were running up on Floyd.

I am yet to see somebody in the ring with Rigo that is not thinking about his power cause the moment they feel it, they start reassessing their game plan. It's not Rigo's fault that he is smaller than everybody they match him with. He's got to think about being undefeated, I am not sure how good his chin is if he initiates wild exchanges but so far it's been obvious that his opposition has been lacking intent to engage with him the way Floyd's opponents engage with Floyd and that's due to Rigo's power and precise punching.

GB still better with Lara than TR with Rigo. And I dont prefer one promoter to the next TBH but what TR is doing to Rigo is wrong. We have the next Sweet Pea right here in front of us and TR is smearing him SMDH.

He was offered undercard vs brawler Avalos x2 but didnt want it since it was for 350k which is well short of his 550k minimum. Thats a fortune for what he brings to the table

If I were Rigo's advisor, I might've urged him to take the Avalos fight. It was on the undercard of the Paquaio-Rios fight and would've gotten Guillermo some nice exposure (again). But it's not so simple. This isn't mere greed on Rigo's part. He's a 33 year old fighter in a lower weigh-class. He has to provide for his future very quickly. Taking a 200k pay-cut has to be weighed against potential future earnings. It's a lot of money to make up. Not to mention, it sets a precedent. If it happens once, his promoters will expect it again.

I agree. Top Rank was doing an excellent job with him up until he nearly shutout Donaire. After that win, all hell broke loose.
