I wish I could broadcast my post to all the boxing fans out there.

I am a Russian speaker and read all the comments that made up the stir right from the start.

All Kovalev said (translated into politically correct language) in reply to an interviewer telling him that a black fighter is dismissing him (might have been B-Hop, I don't remember) was:

"Well, most African American fighters from inner cities do tend to be excessively outspoken".

Look at your average EE fighter and your average inner city black fighter. Isn't this a true statement?

He also called black people tanned - saying later that this is a slang expression among Russian-speaking boxers in the US, because the proper Russian word for a black person sounds too close to the n**** word. What's racist about that?

Kovalev is a mean dude. But not a racist. He hates everybody equally

Kovalev isn't on Ward's level. Not even close really. Probably would have his hands full with Hopkins. Probably loses 9-10rds against Ward. Still don't understand why fight fans fall in love with every guy that comes along that can hit hard.

I have the same problem. The Matthysse train derailment didn't teach these numbskulls anything. Not trying to open a can of worms, but the racial issue being discussed in this thread extends past Kovalev, I truly believe this site is filled with "black hate". You do not hear half the trash talk or ignorantly disrespectful comments on BS.come being made about latino, or asian or caucasian fighters. But the hate for all the top african american fighters is THICK. Think bout this... how many times can you get a thread about Mayweather, Broner, Adonis, Ward, Wilder or Rigo without getting at least 1 page full of hate comments??? It doesn't happen. You can read about almost any other fighter on here and have a decent respectable discussion about them but as soon as a top afro-american fighter is in the post, it's hate and disrespect. Even a good solid guy like Timmy Bradley gets hated on and called the most ignorant names because ppl feel he got a gift decision. As if that was his fault. I guess being black is his fault as well.

As far as this fight being made, Stevenson will step up and show ppl who's the top at LHW and watch all the "dirty pimp" comments you see in comparison to the "cong****" comments. Im looking forward to a great fight that Adonis silences a lot of haters in. He will show his patience and boxing ability and tag Kovalev mid to late, maybe around 8th 9th round he might stop him by IMO. But this fight may also go right to the final bell of the 12th, as both fighters will respect the others power and may trump each other as often happens with mega fights.

Observer, I don't where you got your degree in Russian but your post is totally wrong. You need to go back to school. What I wrote earlier is the correct Russian to English translation of what Kovalev said and all the words he said. Please don't post lies to boxingscene. Facts are facts.

That's nonsense. Any time a Matthysse or Golovkin thread comes up you read the same criticisms, same with Froch, Pacquiao, Burns or Klitschko etc. All fighters get it, so stop with the victim mentality.
