Comments Thread For: Guerrero Doubts Broner Can Adjust To Beat Maidana

Three division champion Adrien Broner recently announced that he is exercising his rematch clause to avenge his December loss to Marcos Maidana.

Broner's flamboyant personality has made him the type of fighter that fans either love or hate. He has engaged in a war of words with many different fighters including six time champion Robert Guerrero.

If the same broner that got his ass beat in the last fight showed up I 100% agree with you. We already know guerrero can't handle movement. Broner would be ****** to stand in the pocket and trade but who knows that's probably all he knows how to do.

Are people surprised at Guerrero's comment, lmao? He was jut going at it with Broner last week(exaggerating). Ask him if Floyd is able to make adjustments.

This is what I'm curious to see in the rematch. Can Broner adjust and correct his mistakes to beat Maidana? I'm not sure he can, but it's gonna be another exciting fight!

Regardless of what Broner's haters say, that was an even fight. With the difference being Chino could handle AB's power better than AB could handle Chino's. In between the moments where AB was staggered and in survival mode, he was actually getting the better of Chino. A rematch will boil down to "can AB handle Chino's power." Personally, I don't think he can. He can outbox Chino. But he's not skilled enough to do it for 12rds. He's pretty good defensivly. But he's not good enough to make Chino miss everything. So the moment of truth where AB is hit with a bomb is inevitable. Maidana will hurt AB enough to carry several rounds. And its very likely that he'll drop AB, which means extra points on the card. And personally, I don't think AB will be allowed to suffer the amount of punishment he suffered in the first fight. He has the excuse of being too small for 47. And he's capable of fighting at 40, maybe even 35. So when it comes down to it, I'm probably picking Chino via stoppage.

What gets lost in all the hoopla of the first fight was how outta shape AB was coming into camp. I picked AB, even though is had doubts. And a large part of my doubt was how fat AB had gotten. Does that have anything to do with his inablility to handle Chino's power? Who knows. But I know getting that far outta shape between fights can't help much. Regardless of what AB's haters say. That was a very grueling fight for both guys. And I suspect that Chino's camp wanting to push the fight back as far as possible isn't directly associated with the hope AB's lack of disciple gets him outta shape again. How else can you explain it? His ole lady having a baby made him unavailable for a fight in in late Apr. But he was willing and able to fight Floyd a couple weeks later the first fight in May. Please.

There is a difference between having the desire to fight the guy you already beat for a decent purse, and getting up to fight the face of boxing for the biggest purse you'll ever make, and the biggest event you'll ever be in.
This has nothing to do with Maidana hoping AB will get fat by making him wait.
