    Gennady Golovkin's style?

Is this the closest to Chavez sr's style as we got today? Anyone else worth mentioning? Anyone agree or disagree?

Saw the similarities even before Steve Kim brought it up. To answer the bold, I can't think of anyone that's closer.

Chavez is a slow plodder with out much defence. GGG has a lot more power, not as strong as Chavez but a better boxer.

Sanchez, GGG's trainer mentioned many times how he showed Gennady the tape's of Chavez and said 'you're going to fight like this in 3 years time'.

i always thought that chavez had extremely underrated defensive ability.

as with a lot of greats who had reputations for being "brawlers," chavez wasn't all that easy to hit, especially flush.

Without a doubt, his defense was really good. Not great but really good. Just not in the mold of what I assume people think a great defensive fighter should be.

Chavez Sr defense was actually very solid especially for his style of fighting. He had good head movement. He could slip punches and roll with them. Chavez doesn't get a lot of credit for his defense. He's underrated in that respect.

I like this video. It shows a little bit of what he could do defensively.

Gardener Style. He knows how to pick the fruit that's ripe for the taking.
