  • Comments Thread For: Peterson: Garcia's Style Better For Me Than Matthysse

Now that Lamont Peterson has bounced back from his knockout loss to Lucas Matthysse, he wants to face the guy who beat Matthysse last year — Danny Garcia.

“He’s considered to be the No. 1 guy, and rightfully so,” Peterson told reporters after defeating Dierry Jean by unanimous decision on Saturday. “And I do want to be considered the best 140-pounder out there before I leave the weight class. I do want to move up to welterweight pretty soon. The sooner the better.” [Click Here To Read More]

Doubt it, Peterson would end up getting KO'd.

This would be a fight that Garcia would need a KO ,he wont get a decision his jab would do a lot of damage to Danny keeping that left hook out of reach. Tough fight for both.

Garcia would beat him just as he did Matthysse. Rushing in throwing loose combos is not going to work.

In the minds of the good people at GBP, Peterson is holding that belt for Broner. And if AB would listen to his management, and mentor. He would be fighting Peterson on Floyd's May undercard. I still think that's fight fight, regardless of what happens in Chino-AB II. Common sense says they would want the Peterson-Broner winner to fight Matthysse, especially if its AB. But since he wants his rematch with Chino. I wonder if they go ahead and make Matthysse-Peterson II and presumingly "cash AB out" with a Matthysse fight later this year.

                  Peterson would kick Broner's ass.

                    Respect LP's acknowegement

That "Swift" is the guy @140.
He can take the Broner high road & claim that he's a champ, & he has yet to lose his belt in the ring, & pound his chest.
                    But he's not.
As I posted before, bad night at the office against Matthysse. the fight was stopped. He wasn't KTFO like Dallas, and all the other opponents of "the Machine".
Also respect that he knows his style was not great against Lucas, but against Danny could be much, much better.
Both are slow starters, but "Swift" has yet to fight someone like LP.
Peterson fought slick fighters like Bradley, sluggers like Matthysse, boxer punchers like "Kid Candle Khan(one good blow & he's out).
Danny fought over the hill fighters, & a good win against Matthysse. with that win, does that make Danny a modern day Arron Pryor???
The challenge is here for Swift to prove that he is indeed like the "Hawk" if he beats LP **** you posters claim he will.
I truly think LP has the skill & style, to prove you guys wrong!
