Comments Thread For: Andre Ward: I'm Open To Facing Groves in The UK

WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (27-0, 14KOs) informed BoxingScene.com that he would certainly entertain the idea of facing British contender George Groves (19-1, 15KOs), and he's even open to doing the fight as a huge headliner in the UK.

Ward was impressed with Groves' performance against Carl Froch last November in Manchester. Groves dropped Froch hard in the first round and rocked the veteran several times in the contest. Froch pulled off a ninth round TKO win with a controversial stoppage by the referee, who jumped in way too early when Froch was trying to finish off a hurt Groves.

So u would go to uk to fight Grooves but not Froch? Isn't that what stopped that rematch from happening??? I doubt Ward leaves Oakland to fight Grooves.

Andre Ward is desperate. He's ran out of options and moving up to real competition is not a option for him cause he's got the Mayweather effect

fight could happen especially if groves signs with a major american promoter, it'll give ward reassurance that he wont be screwed by hern

I believe Ward has said something similar regarding Froch in the past too.

It's time to walk the walk though.
