  • Comments Thread For: Jermell Charlo Outboxes Gabe Rosado Over Ten Rounds

DC Armory, Washington, District of Columbia - After three tough fights at middleweight, Gabe Rosado (21-8, 13KOs) finally returned to 154-pounds and lost a ten round unanimous decision to up and coming contender Jermell Charlo (23-0, 11KOs). The scores were 97-93, 99-91 and 100-90.

Charlo stuck to his game plan, moving and countershot boxing. By the fifth round, the left eye of Rosado was bust wide open and the blood was streaming down his face. Rosado started picking up the pace around the eight round, throwing many more punches and placing a lot of pressure on Charlo. He landed a few good shots, but couldn't change the tide.

Got him and his brother doing big things in 2014. Glad to see Jermell kick it off first.

Jermell looked good. Rosado is no slouch. Golovkin was too much for him, but Golovkin may very well be the best 160 fighter in the world right now.

Rosado beat Love IMO, and was beating Quillin as well, IMO. Jermell looked good. How about Charlo vs Trout???

He can still make a career as a fighter, but he will have to accept that he isn't as marketable as he thinks he is.

I knew this was a bad fight for Rosado as soon as it was signed and announced. Although he will always have scar tissue It was way too soon for Rosado to be jumping back in the ring. Especially against a young guy like Charlo. He underestimated Charlo. Rosado should take at least 8-12 months off and return to 160, I think he looked better there then he did tonight.

Also is it just me or does something look off with Broner since his loss???
